v4.0.13 - Codex Safe mode and custom command default model

Codex now asks before it changes your vault in Safe mode. Approve or reject each edit from Agent Chat, the same way you do with Claude and OpenCode.

Commands also get their own default model, and you can run a command again straight from its result window. This release installs OpenCode 2.0.22 and Codex 2.0.1.

  • Codex chats can use GPT-6.1 Sol. Pick it from the model picker once Copilot installs Codex 2.0.1. (#3447)

  • Choose a default model for commands in Settings → Copilot → Command. Saved commands, Quick Command, and Quick Ask use it unless a command names its own model. (#3443)

  • Click Run again in a command's result window to rerun the same command, for example after switching to another model. (#3443)

  • Copy Chat Link also works on a chat you have not saved. Copilot saves the chat as a note, then copies a link that reopens it. (#3392)

  • Agents use their own web search, page fetch, and PDF reading by default. Turn the Copilot web search, web fetch, and read PDF skills on in Settings → Agents → Skills → Built-in Skills. (#3500)

  • OpenCode chats start on your default model and offer only the models you enabled for OpenCode. (#3498)
  • The model picker shows Loading models… while any agent chat starts. (#3503)
  • Open chats keep their model and effort when the agent restarts. (#3323)
  • The OpenCode model picker shows the provider and model names you set for a custom OpenAI-compatible endpoint. (#3497)
  • On Windows, web search, web fetch, YouTube transcript, and the other relay skills return non-English text correctly. (#3488)
  • Quick Ask shows a single divider above its bottom row. (#3489)

⚠️ Compatibility Notes

  • Copilot now installs OpenCode 2.0.22 and Codex (codex-acp) 2.0.1. Copilot-managed installs download the new versions the next time Copilot loads. Custom binaries need OpenCode 2.0.21 or newer and codex-acp 2.0.0 or newer; open the agent's Configure dialog to switch to the Copilot-managed version. (#3498, #3447)
  • The Copilot web search, web fetch, and read PDF skills are off on existing installs too. In Self-Host Mode with OpenCode, turn on copilot-web-search to keep web search. (#3500)
  • Commands that inherited the chat model now use the command default model. If you have not set one, the command asks you to choose one in Settings → Copilot → Command. (#3443)
