ForgeEmulation 1.2.0 is the first major expansion of the local-first Windows frontend.

Highlights:

  • Persistent per-controller remapping and controller-driven library navigation
  • In-game quick menu with nine save-state slots
  • Global and per-game display/audio settings
  • Checksummed local backup/restore, Continue Playing, privacy-safe diagnostics, and local titles/artwork
  • Game Boy Advance, Sega Master System, Sega Game Gear, and Atari 2600 support
  • Consistent dark-theme Windows dialogs and controls

The ZIP contains one user-facing launcher: ForgeEmulation.exe. No commercial games, firmware, keys, or downloaded metadata are included.

ForgeEmulation 1.0.0 is the first public Windows release.

It provides one portable launcher for NES, SNES, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Sega Genesis / Mega Drive games that users lawfully possess. Bundled open-source Libretro cores are Nestopia, bsnes, SameBoy, and BlastEm.

Highlights:

  • Folder-based local game library with ZIP inspection, search, and favorites
  • Keyboard and controller play, save RAM, save states, screenshots, pause, reset, and fullscreen
  • Per-system core/version/license information and an in-app Controls & help page
  • Isolated emulator runtime and local SQLite storage
  • Exact binary hashes, corresponding-source archives, upstream licenses, and recorded build provenance
  • Flat Windows ZIP with one obvious ForgeEmulation.exe launcher

No commercial games or firmware are included.
