Forge PDF 1.0.0
A free, offline desktop PDF editor for Windows, released under the MIT license.
Windows users: download Forge-PDF-1.0.0-Windows.zip, extract it once, and open Forge PDF/Forge PDF.exe. No installer, account, subscription, or Python setup is needed.
- Whiteout, highlight, and add text.
- Clear the bottom of every page with an adjustable height, starting at 5 pixels.
- Scroll between pages and use the page context menu for quick actions.
- Rotate, reorder, duplicate, delete, insert blank pages, merge PDFs, and export a page.
- Undo/redo and save edited copies while keeping originals untouched.
Whiteout is a visual cover, not secure redaction. Covered content remains extractable. Edited password-opened copies are saved without encryption. See the README for supported limits.
The Windows ZIP, wheel, and source distribution were built from the v1.0.0 tag by GitHub Actions. SHA256SUMS.txt provides their checksums. Windows Python 3.11/3.14 tests and CodeQL passed; 29 automated tests plus a packaged Windows UI smoke check were completed.
