Better v0.4.0

Better v0.4.0 gives teams more ways to self-host their Better remote. You can keep remote data on the server's filesystem or store objects in an S3-compatible service. The same better sync push and better sync pull commands work with either deployment.

What's New

• S3-compatible storage for better-remote. Configure an external S3 endpoint or AWS S3 for remote objects while keeping the service's local volume for coordination and locking.
• Ready-to-use Docker Compose choices. The public release repository includes filesystem, local-development MinIO, and external S3 configurations. The MinIO example uses a pinned image; its sample credentials are for local development only.
• Smaller remote Docker builds. The build context excludes files the remote image does not need.

Upgrade

• Curl-installed users: run better update.
• Homebrew users: run brew update && brew upgrade better.
• Windows users: rerun the PowerShell installer from the public release repository.

Existing filesystem-backed remotes can continue using filesystem storage. Moving an existing remote's objects to S3 requires a deliberate data migration; changing the storage environment variables alone does not copy stored objects.
