Claude caching for OpenAI-format apps, union tool schemas on Claude and Grok, and a highlighted audit log diff.

Highlights

  • Claude caching for OpenAI apps. Claude requests from Chat Completions and Responses apps, such as Codex, now use prompt caching, so repeated turns cost less input. #495, #497
  • Union tool schemas on Claude. Tools with a union at the schema root, such as Codex Desktop's automation_update, now work on Claude and Grok models. #494
  • Current model catalogue. A fresh install starts with the model catalogue of 26 October 2026, holding 554 models and their current prices. #498
  • Highlighted audit log diffs. The audit log shows changes as a diff with the changed words marked and unchanged lines folded away. #496

Changed

  • The audit log shows a change as a diff, with added and removed lines tinted, only the changed words marked, and unchanged lines folded away behind a button. A small edit to a long event now stands out at a glance. #496
  • Gateway: A fresh install starts with the model catalogue snapshot of 26 October 2026, which holds 554 models and their prices for the providers Kaeso supports. OpenRouter drops one model, and fourteen OpenRouter models have new prices. #498

Fixed

  • Tools whose parameter schema has a union at its root, such as Codex Desktop's automation_update, now work on Claude and Grok models instead of failing every turn. Kaeso merges the union into one object schema, and the tool description lists each variant. Each merged tool is named in the kaeso-adapted response header. #494
  • Requests to Claude from Chat Completions and Responses apps, such as Codex, now cache the tool list, system prompt and conversation, so repeated turns cost less input. Cache breakpoints stay within Anthropic's limit of four, and prompt_cache_retention set to 24h asks for a one-hour cache lifetime instead of failing. Cache reads are counted in the usage the app receives. #495, #497
