What's changed

Fixes

  • Windows: relnote no longer crashes with UnicodeEncodeError when its output is piped or redirected (relnote > notes.md, relnote --help | more, PowerShell pipelines). Pipes and files now get UTF-8; terminals keep their encoding. (#22)
  • Windows: git output is decoded as UTF-8, so history with non-Latin characters no longer shows up as "no commits in range". (#22)

Install

  • Scoop (Windows): scoop bucket add loki-inu https://github.com/loki-inu/scoop-bucket then scoop install loki-inu/relnote. Needs Python 3.11+.
  • Single file: relnote / relnote.pyz + SHA256SUMS attached below, now built by the release workflow.
  • Also since v0.3.0: examples/release.sh (standard-version style local release), GitLab CI example, single-file and CI docs pages.

CI now runs a Windows smoke job on every push.
