HC v0.1.0-alpha.6

HC alpha.6: automatic native CLI updates

Installer-managed HC copies now check GitHub releases in the background at most
once every six hours of use. New launches pick up verified updates; current CLI
commands and MCP sessions continue without interruption. No updater service or
dashboard starts. Existing alpha.5 users must rerun the installer once.

Use hc update to install now, hc update --check to inspect availability, and
hc update --disable or --enable to control automatic updates. Set
HC_AUTO_UPDATE=0 to skip background checks for a process. Source/package-manager
builds and explicit version-pinned installs do not automatically opt in. Windows
ZIP users enable updates with hc update --enable.

Downloads use HTTPS, SHA-256 integrity checks and an executable version check.
Alpha clients follow newer alpha/stable releases; stable clients stay on stable
releases. Failed checks leave the installed version available. Local records,
credentials, team access and skills are unchanged.

Native archives and updater binaries are published for Mac ARM64/Intel, Linux
ARM64/x86-64 and Windows x86-64. Linux requires Ubuntu 24.04-compatible libraries;
Mac binaries are not notarized. HC remains a developer alpha.

HC alpha: native installation and hosted access

Prebuilt CLI binaries are available for Apple Silicon and Intel Macs, Linux
x86-64 and ARM64, and Windows x86-64. SHA256SUMS covers all release assets.

Install on macOS or Linux:

The installer selects a published release, verifies its archive checksum and
binary version, and installs to ~/.local/bin. It never creates or opens a
brain. Add that directory to PATH if the installer asks. Linux binaries target
Ubuntu 24.04 or compatible glibc systems. macOS binaries are not notarized.
Windows users can download the ZIP and run hc.exe.

This release includes the generic hc setup, hc login, hc status --remote,
hc mcp --remote and hc logout commands previously used by the company pilot.
Organizations supply their own connection file and instruction skills. No
company endpoint, credentials, membership or source records ship in the binary.
Local storage and grant-scoped MCP commands retain their existing behavior.

It also includes the current main branch's bounded lexical recall and optional
HC Atlas record-browsing work. The dashboard remains separately installed and
manually started. Hosted access is read-only according to the server's grant;
setup alone does not prove ingestion freshness. HC remains a developer alpha.
