The Center for Advanced Learning and Simulation (CALS) at LSU Health New Orleans is a state-of-the-art healthcare education, training, and research center dedicated to advancing clinical practice through simulation-based learning and innovation.
CALS provides immersive, real-world training environments that replicate a wide range of healthcare settings using standardized patients, patient simulators, and fresh-tissue laboratories. The facility features multiple simulation suites, 16 standardized patient examination rooms, advanced audiovisual capture technology, and a 16-station cadaveric laboratory.
Designed to support learners from students to experienced healthcare professionals, CALS emphasizes hands-on, competency-based education, reflective practice, and performance assessment.
