What's changed

  • Chat workspace brings conversational chat into the unified coding cockpit. A pinned Chat row in the coding sidebar runs the agent rooted in your home directory (configurable via CHAT_WORKSPACE_DIR) to inspect or modify files using relative paths without creating a dedicated project workspace.
  • Chat workspaces isolate global context: global instructions, skills, slash commands, and snippets are loaded, while project-scoped AGENTS.md and CLAUDE.md instruction files, project skills, slash commands, and project snippets are ignored.
  • Chat workspaces disable repository git tracking: the workspace dock omits the Git changes tab, the footer omits the branch pill, background git probes are skipped, and snapshot file tracking is disabled so turns never stage your home directory (/undo reverts conversation turns only).
  • Chat workspace UI affordances are tailored for conversational workflows: the pinned row omits repository actions (worktrees, renaming, and removal), and headers, composer placeholders, window titles, and scheduler badges are labeled as Chat.
