What's changed

  • Idle compaction (opt-in): Settings → Automation → Summarization can now compact a session in the background after it has been idle for about 4½ minutes, while the provider's prompt cache is still warm. Your next message starts from a short context instead of paying for a full re-read. It applies only when the context has reached a set share of the compaction trigger (default 70%), skips subagent and scheduled sessions, and is off by default.
  • Replies that are cut off mid-stream by a dropped connection are now retried instead of ending the turn with an "error decoding response body" failure.
  • If a provider can't start (expired login, missing API key, network failure at load), the next message tries it again. Logging in or saving a key in Settings → Providers now takes effect without restarting the app.
  • Images are labelled by their actual content rather than their file extension, so a JPEG saved as .png no longer causes provider errors. Sessions already affected recover.
  • Scheduling a task works with models that send empty strings for unused fields instead of rejecting the request.
