Breaking Changes

  • Project skills, commands and snippets are now read only from .agents/. Move anything in a project's .openagentd/skills, .openagentd/commands or .openagentd/snippets (or .opencode/) into the same subfolder of .agents/, and anything in ~/.config/opencode/skills into ~/.agents/skills. .openagentd/ still holds local runtime state.

What's changed

  • When Claude declines to continue, you now see an error card with Anthropic's explanation and options to retry or switch models. The turn no longer ends silently, and the refused reply is dropped from context, so asking the agent to continue is no longer refused again.
  • Stop always works: a turn that doesn't respond to Stop is force-ended, and the session goes back to idle within about 10 seconds.
  • A session's tools always run in that session's workspace, including after switching chats while a plan review or question is open.
  • A mode you pick while a plan review or question is open now applies to the next message you send.
  • Desktop Reload reopens the session the window was on, instead of the latest session in the last workspace.
  • A JS plugin stuck in a busy loop is interrupted after 5 seconds instead of hanging the server. Plugin hooks time out after 60 seconds.
  • MCP tool calls that never get an answer now fail after 210 seconds instead of waiting forever. Each server can set its own timeout (1–270 s) under Tool timeout in Settings, or with timeout in mcp.json.
  • Drafts in the composer, in answers to agent questions and in plan-review comments now survive a reload.
  • Quick Open and the @ picker now find gitignored workspace files, such as rendered videos or build output. They appear below other matches, and node_modules, .env files and very large ignored folders are left out. A workspace opened at a repository subfolder now applies every parent .gitignore.
  • Workspace videos play right in the panel; use the player's own fullscreen button for full screen.
  • About 150 more file types and well-known files (.jsonl, .astro, .svelte, .vue, lockfiles, Cargo.toml and others) get proper icons, and their text previews, attachments and syntax highlighting now work the same everywhere.
  • Long sessions stay responsive. Turns with more than 100 steps show the latest 100 first, and inline diffs show their first 400 lines; a button reveals the rest. Large files open right away and get syntax colors a moment later, and unchanged file lists, git status and diffs are no longer downloaded again.
  • Plan and agent files are written safely, so a crash can no longer leave them empty or cut off.
  • Transcript find and the ⌘F / Ctrl+F shortcut have been removed. Session search is still in the sidebar.
  • The agent's read tool no longer has an outline option.
