first release of duckdb.mk: a minimal build system for local DuckDB pipelines, delivered as a single Makefile include.

  • models are SELECT queries under models/, built to parquet under build/
  • dependencies come from parsing each query's SQL syntax tree; no config
  • tests under tests/, macros under macros/, make shell for a DuckDB session with a view per model
  • remote sources and getenv values are rechecked on every run
  • each run writes the dependency graph to build/dag.mmd as a Mermaid flowchart
  • tested against DuckDB 1.4.1, the latest release, and the 2.0 alpha
