v1.7

Add pip distribution via platform-specific wheels (#66)

Wraps the existing static dsas binaries in per-platform wheels (embedded
binary + thin launcher that execs it), retagged with `wheel tags` for
manylinux/macosx/win, and published to PyPI via trusted publishing on tag
push. `pip install opendsas` now works alongside the existing curl/brew
install paths.

v1.6

Publish unversioned release assets for a stable install URL (#62)

Release asset filenames embedded the version (e.g. opendsas-v1.5-linux-x86_64),
so users had to look up and edit the version manually before curling a binary.
The release workflow now also uploads unversioned copies, letting the README
use GitHub's stable /releases/latest/download/ URL that always resolves to
the current release without any manual edits.

What's New in v1.5

Breaking Changes

  • GDAL dependency removed — OpenDSAS no longer requires GDAL. All shapefile I/O now uses the lightweight shapelib library, and GeoJSON I/O uses nlohmann/json. Existing workflows are unaffected.
  • Boost dependency removed — date handling migrated to the C++20 standard library.

New Features

  • Mismatched format detection — mixing input and output formats (e.g. .shp input with .geojson output) is now rejected at startup with a clear error message.

Distribution

  • Pre-built static binaries for Linux (x86_64 and arm64) — runs on any Linux distribution with no dependencies.
  • macOS arm64 binary via Homebrew tap: brew tap lubyant/opendsas && brew install lubyant/opendsas/opendsas.
  • Windows x86_64 binary available as a direct .exe download.

Build & CI

  • All dependencies (shapelib, nlohmann/json, argparse) are fetched automatically by CMake — no system libraries required to build.
  • Version is now derived from the git tag at build time (dsas --version always matches the release tag).
