Magic Rec Flag watches a video feed for a red recording tally light and automatically presses your Record / Stop shortcuts in another app (such as QTake) when the light turns on and off.

Install

1. Unzip and move Magic Rec Flag.app into your Applications folder.
2. The app is signed to run locally but is not notarized, so clear the quarantine flag once, in Terminal:

   xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/Magic Rec Flag.app"
   

   (Or right-click the app -> Open, then confirm Open.)
3. Launch it and grant Camera and Accessibility permissions. Accessibility is required for it to send the Record/Stop shortcuts.

Requirements

• macOS 13 (Ventura) or later
• A capture device — a Blackmagic DeckLink / UltraStudio (needs Blackmagic Desktop Video installed) or any AVFoundation camera / virtual camera
