Community Guidelines for Prusik

Prusik exists to help climbers find trusted partners, coordinate sessions, and communicate clearly before meeting in person. These Community Guidelines apply to profiles, connection requests, events, event chat, Community posts and replies, reports, and all other activity in Prusik.

Use Prusik in a way that makes climbing coordination safer, clearer, and more respectful.

1. Be Real and Accountable

• Use an account that represents you truthfully.
• Do not impersonate another person, venue, guide, instructor, organization, or Prusik team member.
• Do not create fake accounts, misleading profiles, or deceptive events.
• Keep your event details accurate enough for participants to make informed decisions.

2. Respect Privacy

• Do not share another person's contact information, location, identity, screenshots, private messages, photos, or personal details without permission.
• Do not pressure users to reveal information they have chosen to hide through Prusik's profile, event, or privacy settings.
• Do not try to bypass blocks, hidden-profile behavior, event visibility, or participant-identity rules.
• Do not scrape, copy, or compile user profiles, events, chat, or connection data outside Prusik.

3. Coordinate Safely

• Be honest about your climbing experience, goals, preferred disciplines, and comfort level.
• Do not misrepresent your belay competence, certifications, age, equipment, or ability.
• Do not pressure anyone into climbing, belaying, leading, spotting, traveling, or meeting in a way they are not comfortable with.
• Respect venue, crag, land-manager, gym, instructor, and local rules.
• Cancel or update events when plans change.
• Use your own judgment before meeting someone or joining a session.

Prusik is a coordination tool, not a safety certification service or emergency service.

4. Communicate Respectfully

• Keep connection requests, event details, and chat relevant to climbing coordination.
• Keep Community posts and replies constructive and relevant to the climbing community.
• Treat other users with respect, including when plans change or someone declines.
• Do not harass, threaten, intimidate, stalk, bully, shame, or repeatedly contact someone who does not want contact.
• Do not make sexual comments, send sexual content, or pursue unwanted romantic or sexual attention.
• Do not use hateful, demeaning, or discriminatory language or behavior.

5. No Hate, Exploitation, or Abuse

Prusik does not allow:

• Hate or discrimination based on protected characteristics such as race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, caste, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or veteran status.
• Threats or encouragement of violence or self-harm.
• Sexual exploitation or abuse.
• Content that exploits or endangers minors.
• Doxxing or targeted harassment.

6. No Spam, Scams, or Platform Abuse

Do not use Prusik to:

• Send spam or mass unsolicited messages.
• Run scams, phishing, fraud, or misleading promotions.
• Advertise unrelated products or services without permission.
• Collect user data for external directories, marketing lists, AI training datasets, or other unauthorized uses.
• Interfere with the app, probe security, abuse APIs, automate activity, or evade rate limits.

7. Event and Chat Expectations

• Create events only when you genuinely intend to organize or join the activity described.
• Choose an event visibility setting that matches who should see the event.
• Use exact pins and location labels responsibly. Do not expose sensitive private locations without permission.
• Do not join events to disrupt, harass, harvest contact details, or pressure participants.
• Keep event chat useful for coordination, updates, questions, and safety-relevant context.

8. Community Board Expectations

• Remember that Community posts and replies are visible to signed-in users in the relevant region and show your basic identity.
• Do not publish private meeting points, home addresses, access codes, or another person's location. The location selected in the composer is used privately for regional matching and is not a substitute for keeping post text safe.
• Use Community posts for genuine climbing-related discussion and coordination.
• Do not use a post or reply to evade a block or continue unwanted contact.
• Do not use Community content for spam, unrelated advertising, harassment, scraping, or collecting user profiles.

9. Reporting and Blocking

Use Prusik's report and block tools when needed.

Report:

• Unsafe, threatening, or abusive behavior.
• Harassment, hate, or unwanted sexual conduct.
• Misleading or malicious events.
• Privacy violations.
• Scams, spam, or platform abuse.
• Bugs that affect safety, privacy, or core functionality.

Blocking may limit profile, event, discovery, and notification interactions between you and the blocked user.

10. Moderation Actions

We may review reports, profile information, event information, chat messages, account records, analytics, and logs when needed to enforce these Guidelines, the Terms of Service, or legal obligations.

Depending on the situation, we may:

• Remove content.
• Cancel or hide events.
• Limit account functionality.
• Suspend or terminate accounts.
• Preserve records for safety, legal, or dispute reasons.
• Report serious or unlawful conduct to appropriate authorities.

We may consider context, severity, intent, user history, and risk to the community. We may act without prior notice when needed to protect users or the service.
