Spotify Volume Hotkeys 0.3.0
This release turns the app into a proper, self-updating install.
New
- Installer: a per-user setup (no administrator rights) that installs to
%LocalAppData%\Programs\SpotifyVolumeHotkeys, adds a Start Menu shortcut, and ships a working uninstaller. - In-app self-updates: on startup the app checks for a newer release and can download, SHA-256-verify, and install it silently in place, then relaunch automatically.
- Update manifest: releases now publish a
version.json(installer URL + checksum) that the app reads, so the check does not use the rate-limited GitHub REST API.
Improved
- Autostart self-heals: if the executable moves or the app is updated, the Windows autostart entry is rewritten to the current path instead of going stale.
- Silent second launch: starting the app again while it is already running in the tray now exits quietly (no dialog).
- Uninstall removes the autostart entry so nothing dangles.
Notes
- The installer is not code-signed, so Windows SmartScreen may warn on the first manual install (More info → Run anyway). In-app updates are unaffected.
