What's new

  • Separate outputs (#3): in Performance mode every Part can go to its own stereo output, plus a Main + Sub mode like the hardware's SUB jack. Plugin: 8 "Part n" buses (tick Part outputs on in Settings, reload the plugin). Standalone: any audio device with more than 2 outputs, and on Linux a JACK device type with 18 free named ports.
  • Performance tab (#6, #2): every Part and Common field is exposed (tune, reverb/chorus switches, output, receive switches, voice reserve, key mode, shared reverb/chorus); Parts have an Edit button that sends their patch to the Common/Tone tabs; Performances loaded on the front panel are mirrored into the tab.
  • Extra polyphony (#7): optional second engine for 56 voices in Performance mode (Settings, about 2x CPU).
  • Browse search (#8): find a preset by name across all banks and expansions.
  • Aftertouch (#2): polyphonic aftertouch is forwarded as channel aftertouch.
  • All settings now live in a single settings.ini; plugin windows open shorter (Ardour); fixed a crash when a host calls state/program changes off the UI thread.
  • Android: JiV-881.apk (debug-keystore signed, install with adb install -r or allow unknown sources); it follows the same engine, the multi-output options do not apply there.

@luginf luginf released this 02 Oct 08:04

Virtual JiV-881 (JV-880 emulator) - the app is now simply called JiV-881 (binary, window title, Android label).
You still need your own JV-880 ROM dumps (see README.md).

What's new

  • Android: three views (Front Panel / Sequencer / Browse patches) switched by a cyclic button with icons next to
    the menu (also selectable in the menu); the sequencer transport is stacked in larger rows in portrait; press and
    hold the panel LCD (~0.5 s) for the LCD colour picker, like the desktop right-click; adaptive launcher icon.
  • Desktop: binary and window titled JiV-881 on every platform, a window/taskbar icon, and
    Audio/MIDI Settings... in the right-click menu (Standalone).
  • Linux: new CLAP plugin and an AppImage, next to VST3, LV2 and the plain binary.
    Everything Linux is now built on Ubuntu 22.04 and needs glibc 2.35 or newer; the first build of this release
    needed 2.38 and failed on older distributions. This release replaces it.
