v1.8.7
v1.8.7 — Opening a file works again
1.8.6 broke the file editor. Opening any file replaced the whole window with an error: "Unrecognized extension value in extension set… multiple instances of @codemirror/state are loaded". This release fixes it. If you're on 1.8.6, update now.
🩹 What happened
1.8.6 updated the editor's core packages (CodeMirror's state and view), but the rest of CodeMirror kept its own older copies. The editor, the diff view and the syntax highlighting are all built from pieces of CodeMirror, and those pieces only work together when they come from the same copy. With two copies in the app, the editor refused to start.
The same duplication affected more than the crash:
- Syntax highlighting (
@lezer/highlight): code could appear without colors. - Editor commands (
@codemirror/commands) and editor styles (style-mod) were duplicated too.
✅ The fix
- Every CodeMirror package now shares a single copy of each of these libraries, pinned in
package.json. - A new test builds the editor with exactly the extensions the app uses. Against 1.8.6's dependencies it fails with the same error you saw; with this release it passes. If this ever happens again, the build catches it before a release.
Everything else from 1.8.6 is unchanged: every TUI in the fleet, the model search, the browser's CORS fix, and sending files to an agent.
