v1.1.0 — single-colour waves + 4K wallpapers
New in v1.1.0
- Single-colour versions of the desktop wave: xmb-wave-blue, -purple, -pink, -red, -gold, -green, -teal and -grey. They stay one colour all day, instead of changing with the time. ./install.sh adds them to Shader Wallpaper's list automatically
- ./install.sh --wallpaper-only: just adds the XMB waves to Shader Wallpaper, nothing else (no password needed)
- shaders/make-colours.sh rebuilds the single-colour waves if you change the palette
- 4K wallpapers attached below, for any desktop or OS
- Cleaned up the repo: removed unused images and the maintainer-only demo scripts
4K wallpapers (attached)
xmb-wave-stills-4k.zip: 8 still PNGs, one per colourxmb-wave-loop-4k.mp4: a 64 s seamless loop that drifts through all 8 coloursxmb-wave-colour-loops-4k.zip: 8 seamless 20 s loops, one per colour (xmb-wave-blue.mp4, xmb-wave-red.mp4, ...)
Video wallpapers: on KDE use Smart Video Wallpaper Reborn, on Windows use Wallpaper Engine (or Lively).
On KDE Plasma 6? Use the live version instead
It's rendered in real time, so it's sharp at any resolution and never repeats. It does keep your graphics card busy while it's on screen, so the stills or videos are the lighter option.
- Install the Shader Wallpaper plugin (Desktop and Wallpaper → Get New Plugins…)
- Clone this repo and run ./install.sh --wallpaper-only
- Set Wallpaper type to Shader Wallpaper and pick xmb-wave (changes colour through the day) or xmb-wave- (stays one colour)
Wave shader by int_45h and llmciv on Shadertoy. Fan-made, not affiliated with Sony.
