Important

This release includes Server changes. Upgrading the Client and Server together is recommended. Existing v2 Clients remain compatible. A v2.4 Client can continue ordinary work with a v2.3 Server, but progress reports are unavailable until the Server is upgraded. Existing databases migrate automatically when the v2.4 Server starts.

Changes

  • Add a run-fenced latest Task progress snapshot with Server timestamps, attempt attribution, dynamic filtering, and diagnostic retention across finalization.
  • Add labtasker.report_progress() and labtasker progress --data for best-effort progress reporting from Python and Command Workers without changing Task status or renewing heartbeat leases.
  • Add Agent Skill guidance for applying explicit external early-stop policies through progress inspection and cooperative cancellation.
