ResumeRec 0.2.8 Beta 2

This update removes the rectangular focus border around the settings tabs. The selected tab keeps its blue underline, and keyboard navigation remains available.

Download ResumeRec-0.2.8-beta.2-arm64.dmg, open it, and drag ResumeRec into Applications. Quit the previous version before replacing it.

  • Requires Apple Silicon and macOS 26 or later.
  • App version: 0.2.8, build 11.
  • This beta is ad hoc signed and not notarized by Apple. Follow the repository README if macOS blocks the first launch.

Verify the download

Download the DMG and its .sha256 file into the same folder, then run:

shasum -a 256 -c ResumeRec-0.2.8-beta.2-arm64.dmg.sha256

@lustri2002 lustri2002 released this 27 Sep 20:36

The first public beta of ResumeRec: a simple, offline macOS menu-bar screen recorder with pause/resume and an optional webcam overlay.

Requires Apple Silicon (M1 or newer) and macOS 26 or later. Free to download; source code is available under the MIT license.

Install

  1. Download ResumeRec-0.2.8-beta.1-arm64.dmg below.
  2. Open it and drag ResumeRec into Applications.
  3. Eject the disk image and open ResumeRec from Applications. Look for the RR icon in the menu bar.

This beta is ad hoc signed and not notarized by Apple. After trying to open it, macOS may require System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway, if available. See Apple's instructions. Managed Macs may restrict this option.

Included

  • Display, window or region recording, with paused time removed from the saved MP4.
  • Optional webcam overlay, life-size preview, dragging and appearance controls.
  • System audio and selectable microphone input.
  • Configurable shortcuts, countdown, video quality and output folder.
  • Compact settings, automatic device-list refresh and an English interface.
  • Offline operation without an account or telemetry.

Validation and limitations

The release passed 11 geometry tests and synthetic audio/video and permission-flow tests. The DMG, app signature, copied installation and SHA-256 checksum were checked locally. First launch after an Internet download on another Mac still needs external beta feedback. The development environment is macOS 27.

One monitor at a time; no automatic updater. See the README for recording instructions and beta limitations. Report an issue.

Verify the download

Download both the DMG and its .sha256 file into the same folder, then run:

shasum -a 256 -c ResumeRec-0.2.8-beta.1-arm64.dmg.sha256

The checksum verifies integrity; it is not an Apple developer identity certificate.
