TrueArchive 0.12.0 Alpha · Build 24

TrueArchive now supports German and English. The app follows your preferred system language, with System, Deutsch and English available in General settings. The website and handbook have the same language choices. Existing archive files, XMP metadata and source names stay unchanged.

This release also includes the previously internal fixes for menu bar memory growth, clearer source actions and reports, and setup directly in the main interface.

For macOS 15 or newer, Intel and Apple Silicon. Extract the ZIP and move TrueArchive.app to Applications after any running import has finished and the older app has closed. This alpha is ad hoc signed and not notarized by Apple. Follow the app-specific first-launch instructions in the handbook. The shared automatic update feed is unchanged; install this test release manually.

Verification: 533 synthetic tests, five intentional skips, zero failures; additional German/English localization and rendered-view checks. All nine fixed performance phases pass in both languages against the unchanged reference. Native menu bar endurance: 124 seconds, about 91 MiB peak memory. Universal binary, packaged translations, checksum and Ed25519 signatures verified. Real Intel/iCloud/Nitro/digiKam and fresh browser-install acceptance remain separate pending checks.
