Current location display

luxor-git edited this page Jun 23, 2020 · 2 revisions

Current location feature shows and updates your location by GPS (or in some cases Wi-Fi also) every few seconds to display your current location. To turn this functionality on, open the context menu by long tapping the main menu.

Tap the Show current position menu item. After tapping it, a blue dot will be inserted into the map. Your map vie will not update according to your position, if you want to locate yourself in the map, open the context menu again and tap the button "Zoom to my location".

You may find yourself zoomed too close in. You can zoom out by vertically pinching the map.

If you move, the dot will move also. Bear in mind that the position is not 100 % accurate and may be off by several meters, especially in forested areas or areas with poor sky visibility... If you find the movement of the dot tiring to watch, you can stop updating your position with the Stop displaying location option. Disclaimer: The position is only updated if the app is in foreground due to technical reasons. Since you can not record the track yet (again, due to technical reasons), it should not be limiting.

The next item in the guide is the last, covering manual refreshing of the map.
