New Features

  • Declare macOS support with a macOS 14.0 package deployment target. ScreenTimeWorkaround.install() is available on macOS 26.1 and later.

The package continues to support iOS / iPadOS 17.0 deployment targets, with installation available on 26.1 and later. For shared code, call the installer on the main actor before creating the first WKWebView:

if #available(iOS 26.1, macOS 26.1, *) {
    try ScreenTimeWorkaround.install()
}

Configuration preservation and archived web view decoding were verified on macOS 26.6.2. A Screen Time stall has not been reproduced on macOS.

Improvements

  • Apps and packages with an iOS / iPadOS 17.0 deployment target can now link WebKitScreenTimeWorkaround.
  • ScreenTimeWorkaround.install() is explicitly available on iOS / iPadOS 26.1 and later. Guard the call when supporting earlier versions:
if #available(iOS 26.1, *) {
    try ScreenTimeWorkaround.install()
}

Call on the main actor before creating the first WKWebView. The workaround's behavior is unchanged.
