Repo Canvas 0.14.0
Repo Canvas 0.14.0 stops repeated background verification and makes the first map view readable with area summaries and a step-by-step scenario view.
- Idempotent work records, persistent retry limits, shared model usage accounting and background quotas.
- History chapters preserve every original checkpoint; compact state updates arrive through SSE.
- Cached module cards, static imports, a structural map without a model, and resumable acceptance after factual verification.
- Semantic focus limits detailed routes; flow-based arrangement preserves manual positions and supports undo.
- Optional MCP tools and hooks share project intent, decisions and current work with agents.
- Smaller runtime dependencies, explicit global installation, a health page and signed release verification.
Validation: 204 unit tests and 24 integration checks, package installation and unsigned-update rollback on Windows, macOS and Linux. Real-browser checks include four scenarios, 36 transitions, desktop/mobile views, history, two tabs and undo. A bounded real model build also passed factual and readability checks.
The archive has GitHub build provenance. Updates require an authenticated GitHub CLI for verification; existing project history and manual coordinates are preserved.
Repo Canvas v0.12.0
- 51 unit/integration тест;
- 200 Codex-сессий и 240 Claude/Kimi-сессий в stress-прогонах;
- Windows, macOS и Ubuntu CI;
- package smoke и self-update smoke на опубликованном
.tgz; - визуальный стресс-холст: 12 областей, 246 сущностей, быстрый drag/pan/zoom, light/dark, маршруты и подписи.

Repo Canvas v0.11.2
Windows update reliability
- Runtime directory promotion now retries transient
EPERM,EACCES, andEBUSYlocks for several seconds. - This covers the real Windows antivirus/indexer lock reproduced while updating a production-sized local repository.
- Includes the v0.11.1 update-completion notice and persisted Architect status fixes.
Validation
- 48 automated tests
- packed-install and process-replacing self-update tests
- GitHub CI on Windows, macOS, and Linux
- live
saas_pipingfailure reproduction with rollback verified before this fix
Repo Canvas v0.11.1
Fixed
- Update completion is now reported by the restarted runtime and the page shows the installed version once.
- Update-state file replacement retries short-lived Windows locks instead of leaving installation status stuck.
- Architect progress and its final result are persisted in
.repo-canvas/architect-state.json. - Refreshing the page or restarting Canvas no longer silently erases the last Architect result.
- If the server really interrupts an active Architect run, the UI now reports that interruption explicitly.
Validation
- 48 automated tests
- packed-install smoke test
- real process-replacing self-update test
- browser visual acceptance with no console errors or horizontal overflow
- GitHub CI on Windows, macOS, and Linux
Repo Canvas v0.11.0
What changed
- Observer and the independent acceptance reviewer now use
gpt-5.6-lunawith low reasoning. - Architect keeps one isolated
gpt-5.6-solthread for the complete build-review-refine cycle and resumes it for every correction. - Reviewer findings point to exact map IDs; Sol receives only the affected fragments, while a deterministic scope guard protects unrelated areas.
- Full failed-map regeneration was removed from acceptance, preventing repeated repository scans and avoidable subscription usage.
- Every Architect run records model calls, resumed thread IDs, durations, validation/review results, and exact token usage in
.repo-canvas/architect-runs.jsonl. - Architect completion and failure banners now show model call and token totals.
Validation
- 47 automated tests
- packed-install smoke test
- real self-update replacement test
- live two-turn Codex resume smoke using one thread
- visual browser acceptance
- GitHub CI on Windows, macOS, and Linux
Repo Canvas v0.10.1
Repo Canvas v0.10.1
- Fixes the Update button remaining on
Installing…after the new runtime was already healthy. - Polls update status every 750 ms only while installation is active.
- Treats the brief server disconnect during replacement as expected and reloads the page automatically when the new runtime responds.
- Adds regression coverage for active/idle polling and the applying-to-current completion transition.
Validated with 45 tests, packed-install smoke, real self-update process replacement, browser QA, and green Windows, macOS, and Linux CI.
Repo Canvas v0.10.0
Repo Canvas v0.10.0
- Builds maps around evidenced project responsibilities and validates them with a separate owner-readability review before applying.
- Adds circular human participants outside project areas, with directed relations showing their exact input, action, decision, expectation, or received result.
- Keeps people out of agent-work targets while preserving their role in the project story and relation routing.
- Makes Observer state compact and change-driven, with unique temporary files and bounded retries for transient Windows
EPERM,EACCES, andEBUSYlocks. - Adds readability-review progress to the Canvas UI and covers the new contract with semantic, stress, package, updater, light-theme, and dark-theme checks.
Repo Canvas v0.9.1
Architect reliability update
- Added a persistent Architect status surface with phase, elapsed time, real activity heartbeat, repair attempt, success and exact failure states.
- Added deterministic validation for area membership, hierarchy, relation endpoints, removals, flow steps and owner-facing language.
- Preserved expensive repository inspection results and added bounded structural repair against an enum of allowed ids.
- Added owner-language enforcement and plain-domain wording checks while preserving product names, contracts and protocols.
- Isolated internal model calls from global/project AGENTS files, skills, memories, plugins, hooks and MCP servers while reusing subscription authentication without copying credentials into the project.
- Replaced the SDK child launcher with the official packaged Codex binary so Windows runs stay hidden; added native target coverage for Windows, macOS Intel/Apple Silicon and Linux.
- Prevented Observer from observing Repo Canvas's own private sessions.
- Fixed React Flow nodes becoming permanently hidden after an Architect or Observer snapshot update.
Validated on a live saas_piping repository: 8 areas, 46 entities and 72 relations, zero store errors and zero remaining mixed-language gate violations.

Repo Canvas v0.9.0
What changed
- Rebuilt the Canvas UI on React and React Flow, with ELK composition and Libavoid connector routing.
- Added a stable semantic project geography: areas, nested capabilities, concrete entities and attached live agent work.
- Added zoom-aware activity emphasis without rebuilding or hiding the project hierarchy.
- Added area-first live routing, obstacle-aware relation lanes, bundled-relation popovers and persistent readable labels.
- Added smooth camera movement, cursor-centred zoom, manual area/entity dragging, undo/redo, owner renaming and light/dark themes.
- Expanded Architect and Observer contracts for DDD-oriented maps, cross-project session filtering and Codex, Claude Code and Kimi Code activity.
- Replaced fragile tokenized browser links with a plain loopback URL backed by an HttpOnly SameSite session.
- Kept verified in-canvas self-update and packaged installation flows.
Install from GitHub

Repo Canvas v0.8.9
In-Canvas updates
Updateappears only when a newer official release exists.- Release discovery is refreshed on page load and hourly, avoiding stale negative checks.
- The updater requires the GitHub SHA-256 digest, downloads the exact
.tgzasset and disables npm lifecycle scripts. - New runtimes install side-by-side in ignored
.repo-canvas/runtime/; product dependencies, lockfiles and map data stay untouched. - Canvas restarts itself with the same browser authorization and rolls back if installation or the new server health check fails.
- Runtime delegation and cleanup are verified on Windows, macOS and Linux.
Users on v0.8.5 install v0.8.9 once through the usual GitHub command. Future releases appear inside Canvas. Users on v0.8.6-v0.8.8 can update from the Canvas button.
