polywright

polywright lets an AI agent make 3D models of real and imagined things for games, 3D printing, AI video and AR, and prove each step with numbers and a picture. It is seven agent skills plus one command-line tool, pw.py, which drives Blender in the background and prints one JSON object per command. It is not a modelling program and not an MCP server: the agent writes and runs the steps, and pw.py measures, converts and checks them.

The smallest real example builds a place from an OpenStreetMap extract (here an invented one, offline, on flat ground) into a game scene and a 60 mm print tile:

python pw.py place --bbox 40.0000,-75.0000,40.0010,-74.9987 --dem flat --res 2 --out park --print-mm 60

The scene, the counts and a watertight print tile come back in one object (abridged on Commands; the full output is there): 1 building with its OSM height, 1 road, 1 tree, park and default ground, and a 6,742-triangle tile unioned by Blender's Manifold solver.

  • Getting started: install the plugin or the skills, what pw.py needs, the first commands.
  • The skills: what each of the seven skills owns and how often each fired in tests.
  • Commands: every pw.py command with real output.
  • How checks decide: the targets, their budgets and sources, pass, warn and fail.
  • The asset contract: the folder and manifest.json other plugins read.
  • Errors and edge cases: every error a run showed, exit codes, known limits.
  • Recipes: a park into a game and a print, a photo into a game prop and a print, TRELLIS.2 and Pixal3D, a bpy script, textures.
  • Versions and upgrading: the releases and what changed.
  • FAQ: Blender, GPUs, MCP servers, licences, Google tiles, other operating systems.
  • Development: tests, CI, how a release is made.

Elsewhere: the README, the CHANGELOG, the releases and the issues. The current release is 0.1.2 (2026-10-11).
