CourseWeave v0.3.0 — Author and Student Edition
CourseWeave v0.3.0
Published 2026-09-16. Public-download acceptance passed on the exact assets below.
CourseWeave adds a local JupyterLab interface for studying and authoring courses. Author Edition introduces private projects, six optional assistant roles, explicit source research, reviewed edits, Student previews, course delivery and backup/restore. The Agent Harness Path Student bundle contains fourteen lessons, twelve runnable notebooks and two optional notebook-free protocols.
Start here
- Student setup: download
agent-harness-path-courseweave-0.3.0-macos.tar.gz, verifySHA256SUMS, extract and run Start Course.command. - Author setup: download
courseweave-author-0.3.0-macos.tar.gz, verify, extract and run Start Author.command. - First setup needs macOS, internet and uv. Reading, notebooks, hints and self-checks need no API key. Keep downloads and study homes outside iCloud Drive and Google Drive.
- Optional model assistance and Brave research use your own credentials. No credential is included in any download.
- Standalone Agent Harness Path remains available independently.
Build and acceptance
- Application source:
f4770b43e8a61ab42c1f608bed1a8a51ab5a37ee, merged through PR #2. - Hosted CI passed on that exact commit: Python 3.11, Python 3.12 and frontend checks/build. Two independent clean source builds reproduced all 27 generated frontend files.
- The local V00–V10 acceptance records full-course, six-role, actual Brave, recovery and bounded review evidence, with its limitations. The final wheel differs in one runtime member: the launcher disables unbounded host language-server autodiscovery. Other application and frontend members match the accepted candidate. Fresh downloaded-artifact checks passed on that changed launch path.
- Embedded course: Agent Harness Path 0.2.0, based on
c90aa1d84d3b1b1c21a5d263de03c4cb198f55c6. Its runnable copy contains the disclosed single Markdown-fragment repair; unused video LFS pointers are excluded. The course archive isf0a1facf8f4cce2f50629792507aa58d55898f490ca2a58e33029d4c166a43f4(SHA-256).
Public-download verification, 2026-09-16
All five assets were fetched through public GitHub URLs without authentication and matched both the build hashes and the repository checksum command. The actual extracted launchers prepared new nonsynced homes.
- Student: all 14 lessons, all 12 notebooks executed with cell IDs preserved, 108 local HTML links/fragments, native self-checks, scoped sharing, optional S13/S14 restrictions, restart, record export/reset and preservation of notebooks and earlier study-home data passed. Recorded completion is synthetic test data, not a learner outcome.
- Author: a new private course was imported, a precise edit reviewed/applied, course and Student bundles exported, and actual Student 0.2.0/0.3.0 previews exercised. Notebook execution/save, unaided phases, Student restart/export/reset, source revocation, inspected backup/new-project restore, disabled editing during restore and Author restart passed. Fresh setup and interrupted-setup recovery also passed.
- Rendering and cleanup: all ten Author screenshots plus six representative full-course Student screenshots were inspected. Both runs passed owned-process cleanup and credential-output checks; private test-file scans passed. The raw run receipts remain preserved.
- Optional providers: the public runs used provider-off setup and a local synthetic protocol provider for specific Student tests. Earlier actual Brave and six-role text-provider evidence is retained only for the unchanged components identified by the package-member comparison, with the limitations in the local acceptance record. No new live-provider result is claimed by these public runs.
Scope and existing work
Observed support is single-user local macOS arm64. Optional provider acceptance covers the tested text-only route; model-native tools, human learning gains and screen-reader use are not established. A dismissible Jupyter news notification can overlap the lower part of a window, especially at narrow widths. See the linked acceptance record for provider and compatibility limitations.
The Author bundle retains the immutable Student 0.2.0 wheel for paired compatibility. Existing study homes are preserved; use the documented backup/recovery procedure when deliberately moving work. v0.2.0 remains available.
CourseWeave is source-available under PolyForm Shield 1.0.0. Agent Harness Path retains its separate Apache-2.0 software and CC BY 4.0 content licenses.
The five assets below are the two macOS bundles, application wheel, source distribution and SHA256SUMS. The verified asset bytes are unchanged from the prerelease.

CourseWeave v0.2.0 — full-course student edition
CourseWeave v0.2.0 is the local macOS student edition for the complete Agent Harness Path: S01–S14, twelve notebooks, and two authored optional practical protocols.
Start with the course README. For the optional guided interface, download agent-harness-path-courseweave-0.2.0-macos.tar.gz and SHA256SUMS, verify the named archive, extract it, and open Start Course.command. Its complete README.md covers setup, studying, deliberate provider configuration, saved work, recovery and feedback. First launch prepares a new versioned study folder; earlier pilot workspaces remain in place. The assistant starts off until explicitly configured.
The wheel and source distribution are developer assets. See the application README, student guide, complete changelog, and versioned release notes.
Verified release inputs
- Application:
409f5c01e93d98f118967138116b0dbafff80ed7; all three main source checks passed. - Course:
c90aa1d84d3b1b1c21a5d263de03c4cb198f55c6; both course main checks passed. The separate course v0.2.0 release contains the native course archive. - All downloadable artifact bytes matched their published checksums and clean public-source builds. The same core bytes were retained from prerelease verification through promotion.
Student acceptance
The exact public download passed all fourteen rendered lessons, all twelve notebooks (154 executed code cells, saved changes and retained cell identities), 35 guided checks/105 options, native self-checks and 108 local navigation links. Both protocol assistance restrictions and review-attestation gates passed. Notebook source remains output-free; optional labs and videos remain optional.
Fresh installation, repeat setup, explicit lesson scope and one-request sharing, one continuous conversation, deterministic progress, saved records, notebook credential isolation, restart, inspect, export/reset and owned-process/credential cleanup passed. Reset preserved saved notebooks. The protected previous release and student work remained unchanged. The final package had bounded independent review and fresh rendered UI inspection, reusing earlier evidence only where inputs were unchanged.
See the per-module acceptance report and machine-readable evidence. EVIDENCE_SHA256SUMS verifies these two reports; the original SHA256SUMS verifies the three core artifacts.
The public-download run used a deterministic local provider double. Three earlier real text questions are separately identified in the evidence: their selected scope and unchanged state passed, but one S11 answer used ambiguous gate-failure wording. They do not establish uniformly correct teaching, arbitrary providers or live tool support. No human S13/S14 work, learning outcome, teacher/author acceptance or hosted-service readiness is claimed. GitHub's administrator browser policy prevented rendered README/feedback-form inspection; thirteen tagged documentation/template source files were checked separately. Optional videos were not played end to end.
Licensing and rollback
CourseWeave uses PolyForm Shield 1.0.0. It is source available, not OSI open source. Local study and evaluation require no CourseWeave registration or license fee, subject to the terms; provider charges are separate. Competing products are restricted, while some noncompeting product uses and the license's New Products protection remain permitted. Read the licensing guide and controlling license.
Agent Harness Path keeps its separate Apache-2.0 software and CC BY 4.0 educational-content licenses. Third-party notices remain included.
Public CourseWeave v0.1.0 cannot load this schema-v2 course. Use the new edition's separate study home; no earlier state or notebook workspace is silently replaced. The previous application release remains available. Keep its earlier course and study home together for rollback; migration and recovery guidance is in the README and release runbook.
