Field Crafter 1.15 - Public Test Release

Field Crafter is a crafting inventory and shopping-list utility for City of Heroes: Homecoming.

Version 1.15 is the first public test release. It is being made available for wider testing and feedback before being treated as a fully stable release.

Downloads

Recommended: Portable EXE

Field_Crafter_1.15.exe

  • Recommended for most users

Python version

Field_Crafter_1.15_Python.zip

  • Python/source distribution

Typical Usage

  1. Inventory Input
Read recipes and salvage directly from the running game, or use screenshots/OCR as a fallback. Direct memory read supports selecting a specific game instance via dropdown menu.

  2. Review & Edit
Verify the detected inventory, choose which recipes to craft, and review any entries highlighted for manual attention.

  3. Shopping List
View salvage to buy, anything you need to delete to make room, any extra/leftover salvage, crafting cost, and the full calculated result.

Windows SmartScreen

The portable EXE is currently not code-signed, so Windows SmartScreen may show an Unknown Publisher warning.

You can verify that your download matches the published release by checking its SHA-256 hash.

Verify Your Download

This release includes:

SHA256SUMS.txt

To verify the EXE in PowerShell:

Get-FileHash ".\Field_Crafter_1.15.exe" -Algorithm SHA256

To verify the Python ZIP:

Get-FileHash ".\Field_Crafter_1.15_Python.zip" -Algorithm SHA256

Compare the returned value with the corresponding entry in SHA256SUMS.txt.

The hashes should match exactly.

Public Testing

This release has not presented any issues in my own testing but I understand there may be some edge cases I haven't found yet, so this is being treated as a public test release. If you encounter a problem, please open an Issue in this repository.

When reporting a problem, include as much of the following as possible:

  • Field Crafter version
  • EXE or Python version
  • Whether inventory was read from game memory or OCR
  • What you expected to happen
  • What actually happened
  • Any displayed error message
  • A screenshot if useful

For recipe-mapping problems, the information shown in the selected recipe's "Details" section can be especially helpful.

Release Assets
