10.26.0 - 2026-10-18

Ghostex 10.26.0 is out. The chat's working indicator becomes one steady card above the chat box, Copilot, Cursor, Grok and OMP work fully from the chat, model menus read each agent's own model list, orchestrators run from a skill with an agent of your choice, and a long list of fixes from your bug reports.

💬 Chat

  • One working card above the chat box: what the agent is doing, the running tool's name and the pills (Threads, Background, the ? question button, Delayed Send) sit in one card right above the chat box, so the conversation never jumps or scrolls under it; each pill opens its own menu, and a finished turn reads "Worked for 12s".
  • The model pill shows the full model and effort: it grows to fit the name when there's room, and hovering it names the provider, model, effort and context in full.
  • Indented lines in agent replies keep their indentation in the chat on the computer and the phone, while lists, quotes and code blocks render as before.
  • Edit › Copy, Cut, Paste and Select All work in the terminal and the chat, enabled only when they can act, so apps that read your selection through Edit › Copy get it, thanks to @banozz0.
  • With several computers connected, each computer's chats show that computer's own model lists.
  • A Claude session's model chip reads only its own status line, not another session's footer that an agent printed in the conversation.

🤖 Agents

  • Copilot, Cursor, Grok and OMP work from the chat: approvals and questions show as chat cards, Stop really stops, and each gets its own slash commands, mode picker, context meter and Fork where the agent supports it. Copilot's conversation shows in the chat for the first time.
  • Model menus read each agent's own list: Codex, Cursor, Grok and Antigravity menus come from the CLI's own model list, refreshed every 10 minutes, with older versions folded under Legacy models.
  • Hermes 0.22 works in the chat again, and Pi's queue no longer cuts a running turn short.
  • Antigravity's Plan mode no longer lands in auto-approve, Codex's plan mode turns off from the chat, and a model the agent refused shows what it's really running.
  • Long chat messages and briefs reach OMP 18.11 again: Ghostex now recognises the 📄 chip OMP shows for a long paste.
  • ZCode: answers to its question picker reach it from the chat, a Start Agent brief is sent instead of waiting forever, and moving a draft into the chat takes 2 seconds instead of failing after 16.
  • A codex you type by hand in a Ghostex session no longer locks its conversation: it runs without Codex's shared background server, so Ghostex's own resume never shows "This conversation is open in another app".
  • Codex: a session Codex didn't name gets a quiet name a minute after its first prompt, a session restored by its title finds its conversation, a session that never got a prompt wakes fresh, and "Enable full access?" shows in the chat.
  • Grok, Antigravity and OMP sessions slept before their first prompt wake properly, and Copilot keeps its real conversation when it resumes.
  • Agent CLI updates never dead-end: Ghostex falls back to the CLI's own updater, Copilot and Pi on Windows update, Hermes reports its update state, and OMP installs its own binary.
  • Search by prompt finds Antigravity, Hermes, Copilot, Droid, OMP and ZCode prompts and resumes their sessions.

🧭 Orchestrators

  • Orchestrators run from the ghostex-orchestrator skill: New Orchestrator gets an agent dropdown (Claude, Codex, ZCode, Cursor, Grok, Copilot, Antigravity, Pi and OMP), High or XHigh effort with XHigh by default, and an (i) that explains what an orchestrator is for.
  • An OMP thread reports to its orchestrator once per turn, not at every pause while it works.
  • Orchestrators can answer without markers: an advanced, not-recommended setting in Settings > Chat > Orchestrators answer without markers; Show marker emojis is an advanced setting now too.

🐞 Send Bug / Feedback

  • Large screenshots send: up to five screenshots of 5 MB each, the same budget as ghostex feedback send.
  • The investigating agent starts on the computer that has the reported session, including a remote one.
  • Images can be dropped onto the dialog, and a screenshot copied from CleanShot pastes as an image instead of its file path.

🔌 Connectors

  • Each workspace can sign gws in with its own Google OAuth client: Settings > Connectors > Choose client…, or ghostex connectors gws client <client_secret.json>.
  • Connector sign-ins copy their one-time code and show it large, with Copy and Open page again, and Settings stays open when you switch back from the browser.
  • A Composio read whose tool name puts the noun first runs without an approval card.

🐧 Linux and Windows

  • Linux: dead keys (~, ´) no longer freeze the terminal on Wayland and X11.
  • Windows: the portable zip runs as its own Ghostex beside an installed one, with its data, ports and lock next to itself, and it leaves the installed Ghostex's agent hooks alone.
  • Windows: a Claude Swap update, reinstall or uninstall waits for running sessions instead of breaking cswap.
  • WSL: Ghostex no longer reads WSL as unavailable because of Windows PATH entries, and WSL startup errors say what failed, thanks to @Dev-Mriganka.
  • Windows: commit message generation and Generate Name work under PowerShell.

🩹 Fixes and polish

  • The Settings window no longer lights up the sidebar rows behind it when you move over its menu.
  • Ghostex web: the New session menu starts agents, and the chat's More actions (Rename, Sleep, Fork, Full Reload) work.
  • ghostex board start-work types the card's prompt into the new session, so an agent started from the command line or an outside orchestrator gets to work instead of waiting at an empty prompt.
  • One-shot jobs (commit messages, Catch me up, titles) run on the session's account or your default, never a disabled one.
  • The sidebar's bottom row sits a little higher above the window edge.
