10.27.0 - 2026-10-19

Ghostex 10.27.0 is out. Every one-line card in the chat gets one clean look, you can edit the orchestrator playbook for all projects or one project, Settings gathers its add-on pages into an Extensions group, and one notification bell covers every connected computer.

💬 Chat

  • Every one-line card looks the same: "Worked for", "Previous turn", Message from and to, background commands, model and effort changes, compactions and answered questions are all 44px cards with one font and background and a square icon on the left; their status (Delivered, Queued, Waiting, Answered) is a pill on the right, and none has a chevron. On the computer and the phone.
  • Question cards show what is waiting on you: a question waiting for your answer leads with a checklist and a yellow "?", an answered one with a question bubble and a green check, and the edited files card with a pencil.
  • Question numbers sit at the right of each question in the chat's questions form and on pages, and an unanswered question on a page shows the yellow "?" too.
  • The conversation ends right above the working card, without the extra gap that sat under the last message.

🧭 Orchestrators

  • Edit the orchestrator playbook: Settings > Chat > Orchestrator playbook changes the playbook every orchestrator follows, a project can have its own in Settings > Projects that also covers its worktrees, and New Orchestrator shows and edits the one it will use.
  • Orchestrators you already have follow an edited playbook, Reset to Default (click it twice) brings back Ghostex's own, a switch turns an edited copy off without losing it, and the editor tells you when Ghostex's playbook changed since you edited yours. From a terminal: ghostex orchestrator playbook and ghostex orchestrator set-playbook.

🧩 Settings and extensions

  • An Extensions group at the bottom of Settings: Store (the page that was called Extensions), Workspaces, Cloud Boxes, Connectors, Actions, Open In, OS Integration and Debugging sit in one collapsible group that remembers whether it is open, and a search opens it.
  • Connectors, OS Integration and Debugging can be turned off in the Store like the other built-in extensions; turning Connectors off also turns off ghostex connectors.
  • Popups inside Settings close with the same round X as Settings itself, shown when the pointer is near their top.
  • Sections in the Settings sidebar fold with the same animation as projects in the sidebar.

🌐 Remote computers

  • One notification bell for every connected computer, with All, This computer and Remote tabs: a remote notification names its computer, and clicking it switches the sidebar to that computer.
  • Switching computers reopens the session you were last on there, the way switching Spaces does.

🐧 Linux

  • Ghostex comes for Linux ARM64: a .deb, an .rpm and a tarball for 64-bit ARM computers sit next to the x64 downloads.

🩹 Fixes and polish

  • The Subagents pill no longer counts stopped or interrupted subagents as running: subagents stopped with TaskStop or Stop all, or finished in an unusual way, leave the count, so their timers no longer grow for hours (#259).
  • A codex typed in a plain zsh or fish terminal stays off Codex's shared server even when mise or another tool reorders your PATH.
  • Bordered tab switches keep their rounded corners when the first or last tab is selected.
