10.32.0 - 2026-10-24

Ghostex 10.32.0 is out. Claude cloud sessions get their own sidebar rows, floating pages open the moment you click them with a working picture viewer, the Browser handles sign-in popups and site permissions, and Ghostex uses far less memory and CPU.

☁️ Claude cloud sessions

  • Run a Claude Code session on Claude's own computers and keep it in the sidebar: pick Claude (cloud) in New Thread, choose the Claude account it runs on, and type the task; it starts on claude.ai from the project's GitHub repository on a new claude/… branch.
  • Each Claude account has its own claude.ai sign-in inside Ghostex, with Google sign-in, a spinner while it loads, and Back to Settings.
  • A cloud row keeps its cloud mark in every state, and Close puts it to sleep instead of removing it, since the session goes on running on claude.ai; close it again to take it off the list.
  • The phone lists cloud rows too, and tapping one opens the session on claude.ai.

💬 Chat

  • A floating page window opens the moment you click its card, with a spinner while the page fills in, and Ghostex warms up its web engine a few seconds after launch so even the first page fills in at once.
  • Clicking a picture in a floating page opens a viewer inside the page with Zoom, Copy and arrows, and a floating page reopens where you left it scrolled; both were announced in 10.31.0 but didn't work there.
  • A running Subagents or Threads pill shows a pulsing yellow dot, and Subagents counts the running ones while any run.
  • While the agent thinks, its thinking is a closed card showing the newest finished line.
  • A tall question card keeps its choices and buttons on screen and only the question text scrolls, and a Claude question taller than its terminal can still be answered from the chat.
  • An answer sent while the background service restarts is retried until it's back instead of failing after 5 seconds.
  • The cards stacked above the chat box are evenly spaced, with the same gap under the last card as under the working bar.
  • The working bar above the chat box uses the chat box's own background, and file names in the @ popup use the normal weight.
  • The docked question card's arrow points down while it's open and up while it's folded.
  • A forked session counts only the questions it asked itself.
  • A long single-line message, or one that starts with a path, is sent as one paste, thanks to @suatkocar (#274).
  • A wide terminal keeps its width while it rests in Chat View, thanks to @suatkocar (#276).

🗂️ Sidebar

  • A question plus working or done shows two overlapping dots, like the Space button, and the question dot lines up with every other status dot.

🖥️ Terminal

  • Cmd+A selects the terminal screen and a plain shell no longer prints 7;9u, Select All on an empty screen selects nothing, and other Cmd keys behave as in Ghostty, thanks to @suatkocar (#278).

🌐 Browser and Files

  • Sign-in popups (Google included), site permission prompts and page notifications work in the Browser.
  • Annotate uses Agentation 3.1.2, picks inside same-origin frames, and starts in annotating mode.
  • In light mode the Files page stays neutral instead of taking the theme tint, and it repaints when you change the theme colour.
  • Uninstalling the Chromium runtime while it runs removes it at the next launch, with Keep installed to undo; Reinstall on Windows works the same way.

🎨 Theme

  • The sidebar and the main area share one transparency by default, and the Strength slider moves both together, keeping any difference you set by hand.
  • A custom light colour is drawn as strongly as the light presets.

📸 Screenshots

  • macOS: area selection lines up with the screen and covers the menu bar and the Dock, so the frozen picture is no longer shifted down and a drag can start anywhere.

🤖 Agents

  • Antigravity: a turn stays working until agy is really done, background commands included, and Combined status no longer ends it early.
  • Settings > Agents: Update available is a filled button like the buttons beside it.

📱 On the phone

  • Published pages open in a page sheet with Refresh, the phone's own picture viewer, and a scroll position shared with the computer.
  • On iPhone the chat box stays above the keyboard when the keyboard changes height while open.

🧹 Projects

  • No more Chats: Quick Terminal, ghostex create-chat and the Chats group are gone, and a project in the chats folder is an ordinary project.

⚡ Faster and lighter

  • The background service uses about half the CPU, and its startup memory peak drops from up to 650 MB to about 270 MB.
  • Background windows stop redrawing, hidden chats pause their clocks, and a working chat updates only its newest turn instead of rebuilding the whole transcript.
  • Typing and new messages in a long chat cost a fraction of what they did, and saving a setting no longer freezes the window.
  • Chat images, diagrams and pictures stop piling up in memory.

📦 Smaller downloads

  • The Windows installer is about 56 MB instead of 94 MB, and releases no longer carry the Windows portable zip.
  • The macOS download is about 5 MB smaller.

🔒 Security

  • Ghostex bundles Node 24.22.1 for the October 21 Node security release, and its npm packages are past this week's advisories.

Windows beta packages are not Authenticode-signed and may show a SmartScreen warning.
