10.33.0 - 2026-10-24

Ghostex 10.33.0 is out. Sessions keep their pull requests, issues and Linear tickets at hand as links, a voice call can focus on one session with a push-to-talk button, shell commands in chat run in a terminal with one click, and new sessions start reliably while crashes on Windows and macOS are fixed.

🔗 Session links

  • A session keeps links to any number of pull requests, GitHub issues and Linear tickets, shown as chips beside its title, a line under its sidebar card and a list with review status and checks, on the computer and the phone.
  • Each link shows what it is by its icon (pull request, draft or closed pull request, issue, Linear ticket or branch), and hovering one shows its full title and details.
  • The links list leads with open work and folds merged and closed links into their own section, every section folds with a chevron, and the list grows up to half the window.
  • Pin a session's main links so they lead every list and always show in the sidebar; a pinned link can't be removed until you unpin it.
  • A removed link can be undone or restored later, links Ghostex suggests show their titles and states, and a session with only suggestions shows a quiet badge that opens them.
  • Session links show under every session card by default: Settings > Sidebar > Session links in the sidebar starts at Always and also offers Selected session, Badge, Open work only and Off.
  • Hovering a session in the sidebar opens its links in a floating card, and +N opens the full list.
  • Links stay fresh without slowing Ghostex down: each repository is read from GitHub in one go, idle sessions refresh every 30 minutes and whenever you open them, and link titles survive restarts.
  • On the phone, a chat shows its session's links in a strip under the header, session rows follow the sidebar setting, and a long press on a link opens its details with Pin and Remove.

💬 Chat

  • Shell commands in replies run with one click: code blocks get Run in terminal and inline commands get Copy or Paste in terminal, using the project's Commands panel terminal, on the computer and the phone.
  • The picture viewer moves through every picture in the chat with the arrow keys, edge buttons and a counter, and with swipes on the phone.
  • Every agent's tool calls read like Claude's: a Codex command says what ran and a failed one leads with its exit code, and thinking is a slim row that opens on click.
  • Settings > Chat > Open chat pages in picks Popup, Files or System browser for the pages agents show in chat.
  • Question forms show an info icon instead of the sentence about skipped questions, on the computer, the phone and pages, and a page's choices follow the order of the variants shown above them.
  • The running dot sits in the pill's corner like the questions dot, and the questions pill shows its count instead of a question mark.
  • Long chats use much less memory: each chat now keeps its drawn messages once instead of twice, tens of megabytes less on a chat with a few thousand messages.
  • A session keeps the Terminal or Chat view you picked for it when it wakes, resumes or comes back after a restart.

🎙️ Voice

  • A voice call can be about one session: start it from a chat's menu, or a session's long press on the phone, and widen it to all sessions when you need to.
  • Push-to-talk gets a hold button beside Mute, plus Space and a Hold to Talk hotkey and a Stop pill; on the phone, sliding off the button cancels, it buzzes as you press, and the call notification gets a Talk button.
  • Long voice replies read as short paragraphs, a run of the same tool shows as one row, and rows get more room.
  • The computer asks Keep the call or Hang up and call when a call is already open on another computer, like the phone does.

🗂️ Sidebar

  • A project's session groups sit indented under it with a tree line and a folder icon, and fold with it, on the computer and the phone, thanks to @suatkocar (#286, ghostex-mobile#2).
  • A session can leave a session group again: drag it onto another group or its project's list, or use Advanced > Move to Group and Remove from Group, thanks to @suatkocar (#284).
  • A folded orchestrator shows its threads' overlapping status dots: blue means a thread finished and clears when you open the orchestrator, and pink means a thread is waiting on you.
  • The sidebar toggle keeps its place beside the window buttons when the top row is wider than the sidebar (#288).
  • A computer tab's status circles sit below its label instead of pushing the icon and name aside, on the computer and the phone.
  • An awake session's agent icon is brighter at rest, and Collapse All skips hidden session groups.

🧭 Orchestrators

  • Every message an orchestrator sends a thread reminds it of its title, so threads rename themselves to their latest task.
  • Messages between agents always say who sent them, and a thread can't message its own orchestrator in the middle of a turn.

🧩 Issues Workflow

  • Work mode becomes Issues Workflow, on for every project once a Linear API key or gh is set up, with Title sessions by their branch and Offer Clean up when a PR merges as their own settings, on the computer and the phone.

🌐 Remote access

  • The pairing QR is a ghostex.dev link, so the phone's own camera opens Ghostex and pairs, on Android and iPhone.
  • Settings > Remote has Easy Connect, Tailscale, Remote machines and Advanced tabs, each showing its status on the tab strip, and the pairing QR waits behind Show QR, which opens a larger popup.

📂 Files

  • Pictures zoom with pinch, keys and header buttons, tall ones open at the view's width, and a click opens a full-window viewer; on the phone, a double tap switches between screen width and actual size.

📱 On the phone

  • This release's phone features come with the phone app update, not over the air, so install the new app to get session links, voice calls about one session, push-to-talk, Run in terminal and the rest.
  • Android pastes and drops images into the chat box, and the chat box's pills stop flickering while you type.

🪟 Windows

  • Creating a Codex session no longer crashes the background service (#289), a session step that crashes is skipped instead of taking the service down, and leftover session terminals and helpers are ended.

🔄 Updating

  • Installing this version restarts your running sessions once on macOS, Linux and Windows with WSL. Agents come back on their own, but anything they had in flight at that moment is lost, so update at a quiet time.

🩹 Fixes and polish

  • New sessions start reliably (#290): Ghostex checks the launch command, types nothing before the agent's input box is ready, and sends a model only to its own agent, so Codex no longer opens blank and Claude no longer gets a Codex model.
  • macOS: picking a model or closing the Feedback window no longer quits the app (#291).
  • Kanban card text fields take clicks again when the board has its own window (#287).
  • Codex sessions idle for a week show their chat and resume again after Codex compresses their history.
  • A session whose account was removed moves to a working account when it wakes or is restored, and an account refusal shows one toast naming the session, agent and account, with Open Accounts.
  • Arrows, Home/End, Page Up/Down and Forward Delete edit text in web pages instead of typing a blank.
  • Agents Hub: the Sync all agents panel is opaque and lists only the groups with changes, and an empty plan just says everything is in sync.
  • The floating Capture button keeps up with a fast drag.
  • Settings hides rows this computer can't use until you search for them, so a Mac with Read aloud off no longer says it can't speak.

Windows beta packages are not Authenticode-signed and may show a SmartScreen warning.
