edge (0.2.1-edge.3)
Rolling edge build 0.2.1-edge.3
v0.2.0
A much more reliable chat, a much faster Podium, and safer updates.
What's new
- Stability. The chat view in sessions is much more reliable. Messages now reach the agent in most sessions, and messages sent between agents have been improved too.
- Speed. The client and the server are both much faster, especially on large workspaces.
- Cost per task. See what each task costs, on the task header and the usage sheet.
- Pi. The Pi agent is now fully supported.
- Mobile app. The mobile app has been much improved.
- Windows and Linux desktop. Experimental builds are available.
- Safer updates. Updates show live progress, and a failed one rolls back instead of stranding machines.
- And more. Many smaller UX improvements and new features.
Upgrading from 0.1.0
- Podium backs up your database automatically before migrating. Rolling back means restoring
~/.podium/podium.db.backup-vupdate-*. - Every client reloads once on first connect. Nothing is lost.
- Sessions that are running during the upgrade keep running. Until they end, they stay on the old terminal host and have some limits. A reopened terminal may not fully repaint until the agent next redraws, and delivery confirmation for messages to them may be less definite. Hibernating and resuming a session moves it to the new host, and so does starting a new one.
dev (0.1.1-edge.4)
Rolling dev build 0.1.1-edge.4
Podium 0.1.0
Podium 0.1.0 — the first stable release
Mission control for coding agents. Run Claude Code, Codex, and other agent CLIs on your own
machines, and drive them from a fast web UI — at your desk or from your phone.
Podium wraps the real agent CLIs in real PTYs, keeps sessions alive across disconnects and
restarts, and adds the coordination layer that turns a pile of terminals into a workflow.
Everything from the 0.1.0-edge series is folded in here. stable is now a channel you can
actually install from, not a promise.
What you get
- Real terminals, remotely. Every agent runs in a persistent PTY session on your machine — the
real CLI in a real terminal, not a-pflag wrapper around it. Attach from any browser; nothing
dies when you close the tab, lose your connection, or reboot. - Mobile first-class. The web UI is a PWA built for running agents from a phone: check on a long
task, answer an agent's question, kick off the next one. - Agents that track their own work. A built-in issue tracker with CLI and MCP surfaces that
agents drive themselves — they claim issues, file work they discover, and report progress while
you watch the board. - Worktree-native. Sessions group by git worktree, so parallel feature work across worktrees is
the default workflow rather than something you fight for. - Multi-machine. One server, many daemons: pair a VPS or a second workstation with a code, and
start agents on whichever machine has the repo. - Self-hosted, single binary. A compiled Bun binary for the headless server and daemon, plus an
optional native desktop app. Your code and your agent credentials stay on your machines. - Signed self-updates. Every release carries Ed25519 signatures, and every update — headless or
desktop — is signature-checked before it is swapped in.
Install
Headless (Linux x86_64 and ARM64). The installer picks your architecture, installs missing runtime
tools through your package manager, verifies the Ed25519 signature, and drops podium into
~/.local/bin:
curl -fsSL https://github.com/madeinorbit/podium/releases/latest/download/install.sh | shThen run podium and finish setup in the browser at the printed URL (or podium setup for the
terminal flow).
Desktop: download Podium_0.1.0_aarch64.dmg for macOS (Apple Silicon, signed and notarized) or
Podium_0.1.0_amd64.AppImage for Linux x86_64 below.
Verify a manual download with sha256sum -c SHA256SUMS --ignore-missing.
Notes
Podium is pre-1.0 and moves quickly: edge tracks main, and stable is this. macOS builds are
Apple Silicon only. Please file what you find.
