First public build of Mandroid: run Android apps on your Mac as native-feeling windows.
Download: Mandroid-0.1.0.zip (signed with Developer ID, notarized and stapled). Unzip and drag Mandroid.app to Applications.
Highlights
- Each Android app opens in its own macOS window with a normal title bar, free resize, Dock and Spotlight presence, no phone frame or Android system bars.
- First launch downloads the stock Android Emulator, platform-tools and a Google Play system image (about 2.5 GB) into
~/Library/Application Support/Mandroid/. Mainland-China Macs use the Tencent Cloud / Aliyun mirror. - Touch, keyboard, scroll, clipboard and Cmd shortcuts are translated to the guest; Retina-crisp frames at the window's physical pixel size.
- Library with app icons rendered by Android, launcher stubs under
~/Applications/Android Apps/, drag-and-drop APK install. - Settings: RAM/cores, default window size, GPU backend profiles (hardware, Vulkan batching, automatic, software), native media volume with mute, per-app HTTP proxy, China mirror choice.
- Emulator crash detection with restart, frame streaming pauses for hidden windows, graceful shutdown, migration from earlier Madroid / Android App Runner installs.
Requirements
- Apple silicon Mac running macOS 15 or later (arm64 only).
- About 2.5 GB of disk for the emulator and system image.
Known limitations
- At most three Android app windows at a time (emulator limit); extra windows park and resume on click.
- Apps that require Play Integrity attestation detect the emulator and will not run.
