Chunked Conversation Indexing
Conversations are now split into overlapping 4000-char chunks, making the entire conversation searchable — not just the first 8000 characters. Long sessions that previously had content cut off are now fully indexed.
Agent Session Support
Agent and subagent session files (subagents/agent-*.jsonl) are now discovered and indexed. Previously these were explicitly skipped, making agent conversations invisible to search.
Search Modes
--exact— Exact phrase search. Only matches the literal string in order. Results sorted by most recent.--semantic— Pure vector similarity search, no keyword matching.- Default hybrid mode now weights keyword matches 3x over semantic for more precise results.
Query Highlighting
Matching phrases are highlighted in yellow bold in the TUI preview pane.
Search Quality Fixes
- FTS5 queries now AND terms together instead of OR-ing (no more false positives from single common words)
- Preview snippet centers on the full phrase match, not arbitrary individual words
- Best matching chunk is shown in preview instead of truncated session text
Upgrade Notes
Run ccsearch index --force once after upgrading to rebuild the index with chunks.
