Legion Go Auto Rotate v0.3.4
Bug Fixes
- Fixed auto rotation remaining paused at startup with detached, powered-off controllers when unrelated controller packets repeatedly reset the startup timeout.
- Ensured available controller status reports are processed before the startup timeout fallback.
Legion Go Auto Rotate v0.3.3
Bug Fixes
- Fixed auto rotation being incorrectly blocked when starting with detached, powered-off controllers.
- Fixed controller attachment state changing incorrectly between active and blocked.
- Fixed a startup race during controller detection.
- Improved controller detection when the controller USB interface reconnects or changes modes.
Legion Go Auto Rotate v0.3.2
Legion Go Auto Rotate v0.3.2 improves controller startup detection and moves the app to .NET 10 LTS.
What's Changed
- Updated the app from .NET 8 to .NET 10 LTS
- Added VS Code debug launch configuration for local development
- Updated README build instructions for the new .NET 10 target
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a startup issue where detached controllers that were powered off could leave auto rotation blocked
- Improved controller HID monitoring so the app can recover when the first matching controller interface is silent
- Added support for the controller-off HID report pattern
- Improved diagnostics around controller-based rotation blocking decisions
Notes
This release is recommended for users who start the app with controllers detached and powered off.
No .NET installation is required when using the self-contained executable.
Legion Go Auto Rotate v0.3.1
Legion Go Auto Rotate v0.3.1 fixes a controller detection issue from v0.3.0.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue where detached, powered-on controllers could still leave auto rotation blocked
- The app now keeps the last valid wireless controller state if the controller HID report stream times out or reconnects
- Improved diagnostics logging for controller-based rotation blocking decisions
Notes
This release is recommended for users who use the Legion Go 2 with controllers detached.
No .NET installation is required when using the self-contained executable.
Legion Go Auto Rotate v0.3.0
Legion Go Auto Rotate v0.3.0 improves the app identity, tray status feedback, and controller-aware rotation behavior.
What's Changed
- Added the new application icon
- Added proper Windows app metadata, including version, author, product name, and repository information
- Added an About dialog with version information and a clickable repository link
- Added dedicated tray icons for:
- Auto rotation active
- Auto rotation paused
- Auto rotation blocked by attached controllers
Bug Fixes
- Fixed rotation not being blocked correctly when the app starts with controllers already attached
- Fixed controller blocking only taking effect when both controllers were attached
- Rotation now pauses when either controller is attached, unless Rotate with Controllers Attached is enabled
- Improved tray state handling so the visible tray icon better reflects whether rotation is active, paused, or controller-blocked
Notes
This release does not require a .NET installation when using the self-contained executable.
The app is intended specifically for the Lenovo Legion Go 2 running Windows 11.
Legion Go Auto Rotate v0.2.0
This release improves automatic rotation behavior for real-world Legion Go 2 setups, especially when using external displays or the detachable controllers.
Changes
- Added controller-aware rotation behavior for the Lenovo Legion Go 2
- Automatic rotation is now paused by default while both controllers are attached
- Added a tray menu option to allow rotation with controllers attached
- Added per-user Start with Windows support
- Added diagnostics logging and an Open Diagnostics Folder tray menu option
- Improved internal display detection so external displays are left untouched
- Fixed startup orientation handling to avoid incorrect 90-degree rotation on launch
- Added single-instance handling so only one copy of the app runs at a time
- Updated README documentation for the new tray options and behavior
Notes
By default, auto-rotation now works when the controllers are detached and pauses when both controllers are attached. To allow rotation while the controllers are attached, right-click the tray icon and enable Rotate with Controllers Attached.
External displays are not rotated. If the built-in display is disabled, automatic rotation safely does nothing.
Legion Go Auto Rotate v0.1.1
Legion Go Auto Rotate v0.1.1
This release improves safety in docked and multi-monitor setups.
Fixed
- Auto-rotation now targets the Legion Go 2 built-in display instead of the Windows primary/default display.
- External monitors are no longer rotated when connected.
- If the built-in display is disabled or unavailable, the app safely does nothing instead of falling back to another display.
- Preserved the corrected Legion Go 2 orientation mapping, including the fixed 90°/270° behavior.
Added
- Added
tools/DumpDisplayConfig.ps1to help verify how Windows reports connected displays.
Testing
Tested on a Legion Go 2 with an external display connected. The external display no longer rotates when the device orientation changes.
