Maestrun 0.1.1-beta.3 makes task results easier to inspect and demonstrates how independent work continues after a failure.

Added

  • Task details show every step's final result, status, and token usage in workflow order. Press Enter on a task to inspect them.
  • Press L in task details to toggle the full recorded conversations for each step, including earlier steps after reconnecting. Sending instructions opens the logs and follows the active step.
  • The advanced sample includes an independent task that fails because sample-required-input.json is intentionally absent, while add, clamp, and compose continue through verification and integration.

Fixed

  • Failed runs keep the interactive task view open for inspection. Independent tasks continue and dependants stay blocked; after execution finishes, Esc opens recovery options.
  • Stages that exhaust automatic repairs appear as red error nodes instead of suggesting another automatic repair.
  • Multiline task output preserves line breaks, and instruction replies remain visible while later steps are pending.

Changed

  • maestrun sample advanced now contains four tasks and intentionally finishes with three completed tasks and one failed task. Noninteractive execution returns exit code 1 after all runnable tasks finish.
  • The README and advanced guide document failure inspection, per-step output, the new sample behavior, and the release workflow. Existing advanced sample screenshots are labeled as captures of the earlier three-task version.

Contributor workflow

  • Pull requests use categorized changelog entries and validation evidence, with automated description and code-quality checks.
  • All repository changes require topic branches and pull requests. Shared agent skills and development rules are versioned in the repository.

Compatibility and limitations

Scripts using maestrun sample advanced as a successful smoke test should switch to maestrun sample, or expect exit code 1 and verify that the other three tasks completed. Existing sample directories are unchanged. The advanced sample normally uses 21 model stages, including six attempts at the missing-input task.

Existing reports remain readable. Per-step logs show recorded messages from each step's latest attempt; older reports cannot recover historical logs without conversation references. Extension steps have no model conversation.

Validation

All 792 tests in 113 files passed locally. Coverage: statements 88.02%, branches 84.16%, functions 91.14%, and lines 90.75%. Formatting, ESLint, TypeScript, build, package creation, and the compiled CLI version check passed. Automated tests use fake executors without paid model calls.

Maestrun 0.1.1-beta.2 adds documentation screenshots from real simple and advanced sample runs, including the automatic QA → Implementation repair flow.

GitHub releases now trigger npm publishing through GitHub Actions and npm trusted publishing. Pre-releases publish to beta; stable releases publish to latest. The CLI and executor integrations read the package version automatically.

Install or update:

npm install --global @maestrun/maestrun@beta

Validation: all 768 tests passed; coverage exceeded 80% in every category. Formatting, lint, TypeScript, build, CLI version, and six release validation cases passed.

This is a Beta release. Bugs may occur; issues and pull requests are welcome.

The repeated-sample integration test now allows 30 seconds for its 30 executor processes on slower CI runners. All assertions remain in place. This supersedes beta.1, whose npm publication was stopped by the previous test timeout.
