Review/Block/Product/View _toHtml() changes product state

What is a reason to set 'short_description' on the block toHtml?
So after this action \Magento\Framework\Registry returns a product with empty attribute 'short_description'.

Thanks for raising the concern regarding the calling of $product->setShortDescription(null); method from _toHtml. But after reading the issue description, it seems you are querying regarding the calling of this method.
