Cloudlog v2.8.17 Release Notes

This release brings a massive set of features for satellite operators, major improvements to DXCC award tracking, enhanced eQSL security, and smarter search functionality across your logbook.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Action Required for Clublog & eQSL Users

  • Clublog Automatic Uploads: Due to underlying code refactoring, automated Clublog uploads now require explicit station profile selection. Please check your Station Profiles and ensure the Clublog Cron Upload toggle is enabled for any station locations you wish to upload automatically. If credentials fail (e.g. 403 HTTP error), Cloudlog will clear the credentials and alert you on the dashboard.
  • eQSL Password Encryption & Mappings: Stored eQSL passwords are now encrypted at rest. While existing passwords will migrate automatically, we strongly recommend visiting Account Settings -> eQSL to verify your account mapping credentials and ensure smooth sync operation.

🛰️ Satellite & Grid Map Updates

  • OscarWatch Integration: Added full support for OscarWatch SAT status uploads alongside existing AMSAT reporting. You can now add an OscarWatch API token in your account settings, test your token directly with a built-in verification tool, and toggle AMSAT and OscarWatch uploads independently.
  • Smart AMSAT Overrides: Introduced a flexible force_amsat option to keep your AMSAT uploads in sync even when OscarWatch status reporting is active.
  • Improved Satellite Mode Mapping: Enhanced satellite mode detection for cross-band FM, SO-series birds (SO-50, SO-124, SO-125), PO-101, and ISS/ARISS packet/repeater aliases. Your logbook will now correctly reflect transponder modes and bands (V/U, U/V, V for Packet) without manual tweaks.
  • Satellite Orbit Filters on Grid Maps: Filter your Gridmap and Activated Gridmap by orbit type: LEO, MEO (IO-117), and GEO (QO-100). Includes updated summary cards showing worked/confirmed breakdowns by satellite class.

🏆 DXCC & Awards Tracking

  • EME Added to DXCC: Earth-Moon-Earth (Moonbounce) is now fully integrated into the DXCC Awards tracking page.
  • Multi-Band DXCC Selection: Replaced the single-band dropdown on the DXCC Awards page with multi-select checkboxes. You can now filter by multiple bands at once or use quick-preset buttons (HF Only, VHF/UHF+, SAT Only, All, Clear).
  • Improved DXCC Maps & Logic: Fixed band status logic so Confirmed ('C') always takes priority over Worked ('W') across all bands. DXCC maps now honour year and eQSL filters properly, and legends display combined worked counts alongside unconfirmed breakdowns.

🔒 eQSL Enhancements

  • At-Rest Password Encryption: All stored eQSL passwords are now securely encrypted in the database.
  • Smarter Password Reuse: Simplified adding eQSL mappings. If you use the same eQSL username across multiple profiles, you no longer need to re-enter your password; Cloudlog will automatically reuse your stored credentials.
  • Better Error Messages: Informative failure messages now explain whether an eQSL error is caused by credential issues, database schema issues, or encryption failures.

📡 Clublog Integration

  • Station Profile Toggles: Control which station profiles upload to Clublog via automated cron jobs using a dedicated toggle on your station setup page.
  • Credential Safeguards: If Clublog returns an access-denied error (HTTP 403), Cloudlog will automatically clear stored credentials, flag a warning on your dashboard, and optionally send you an email notification.

🔍 Search & Logbook Navigation

  • Exact Match & Search History: Refactored callsign and locator grid search to support exact-match toggles, partial fallback, and a local search history.
  • Bookmarkable Search URLs: Search queries now use GET parameters, allowing you to bookmark or share specific search result URLs.
  • Filter Badges & Persistence: Advanced filter panels now show result count badges, include a quick-clear button, and remember your active rules across page refreshes.
  • Map Support on Search: Search pages now automatically load Leaflet map scripts and styles for embedded map elements.

👤 QSO Logging & Callbook UI

  • Merged Activator Variants: Activator listings now group calls with portable suffixes or regional prefixes (e.g., /P, MM/, MW/) to display aggregated grid counts and contact details seamlessly.
  • Conditional Callbook Panel: The callbook lookup tab now selectively displays based on your configured provider (QRZ or HamQTH) and cleanly adjusts layout based on your avatar/profile picture preferences.
