OscarWatch Tracker - Version 0.9.6

Advanced Kenwood TS-2000 Integration

  • Hardware RTS Signalling The Kenwood TS-2000 requires hardware Request To Send (RTS) lines to be held active before it will answer any CAT commands. The serial interface now forces this handshake on by default, preventing uncommunicative ports. Clear configuration hints have been added to the settings panel to help you get connected the first time.

  • Clean Memory Mode and VFO Recovery Rewrote the CAT sequence for the TS-2000 so that it plays nicely with your radio's internal state. If your rig is currently sitting on a standard memory channel when you start a pass, the tracker will temporarily step it off into VFO mode to execute satellite tracking commands. Once the pass ends or you close the app, it runs a clean SatPC32-compatible exit routine that restores your original memory channel right back to the dial.

Icom HF Satellite Band Operations

  • HF Satellite Capability Extended the tracking engine to support HF satellite transponders (spanning 1.8 to 54 MHz). This enables tracking and Doppler correction for satellites like AO-07 on the 10m band using capable rigs such as the Icom IC-9100. The VFO band-swapping and frequency region checks have been simplified under the hood to handle these shifts smoothly.

Local Logbook, ADIF Data Range Exports, and WebSocket Broadcasts

  • Date-Scoped ADIF Log Exports You are no longer forced to export your entire contact history every time. The ADIF exporter now includes a date range selection dialogue, complete with a live QSO count preview, range-aware file naming, and full LogBook of the World (LoTW) mapping support.

  • Strict ADIF 3.1 Mode Mapping Raw mode text has been updated to follow official ADIF 3.1 specifications. For instance, LSB is now exported as MODE=SSB paired with SUBMODE=LSB. If your downlink mode differs from your uplink mode, the receiver mode is cleanly embedded as an "RX mode" note inside the standard ADIF comment block.

  • Live Logbook Network Broadcasts The built-in local WebSocket Satellite Link service now streams real-time logbook actions. Whenever you log, update, or delete a contact inside the local logbook, a structured notification is instantly broadcast out to any connected external logging apps on your local network.

Visual Sky Plot and Elevation Timeline Tweaks

  • Live Pass Trajectory and Rotator Crosshairs The radar-style Sky Plot display has been given a huge functional upgrade. It now draws the upcoming satellite pass trajectory as a clear, coloured line across the sky grid, and adds a live crosshair marker showing exactly where your rotators are currently pointing so you can visually verify your array is right on target.

  • Time Format Preferences for Elevation Charts The new mountain-style pass elevation chart below the map now obeys your global layout preferences. Whether you prefer local time or UTC, 12-hour or 24-hour clocks, the timeline labels, summaries, and tooltips adjust instantly.

Smarter Satellite Data Matching

  • NORAD ID Cross-Referencing Added a new norad_id field across the entire satellite database. This lets the application pair Keplerian element data with your rig configurations even if an internet data provider uses a slightly different name for the bird (for example, matching SAUDISAT 1C directly to SO-50). The database editor now exposes this field, and the engine automatically backfills missing IDs from remote updates during sync cycles.

EasyComm Enhancements and macOS Walkthroughs

  • Robust EasyComm Position Parsing Added a dedicated parsing layer to handle various custom azimuth and elevation feedback strings sent back by EasyComm-compatible controllers. The driver now defaults to a standard 9600 baud rate and issues a proper stop command sequence (SA SE) on shutdown.

  • Dedicated macOS Installation Guide Added a comprehensive help file (help/macos-install.html) detailing how to handle gatekeeper warnings, clear quarantine tags, approve local library files, and configure microphone permissions for unsigned macOS application builds.
