v0.9.8
OscarWatch Tracker - Version 0.9.8
FlexRadio SmartSDR Integration
- Native FlexRadio Support Added a dedicated SmartSDR single-radio driver operating over TCP/UDP LAN. This provides automatic local network radio discovery, mode mapping, and full-duplex slice control (including native NFM handling). You can search for and test connections to your Flex SDR directly inside the Rig Settings panel.
- Smart Tuning and Passband Preservation Manual frequency adjustments on your Flex passband are now preserved when tracking Doppler shifts. Pushed SmartSDR updates process before automated Doppler writes so your manual tuning adjustments stay right where you put them.
- Resilient Audio Initialisation Audio processing (DAX/PortAudio) is now initialised only when pass recording features are actually launched, running through an out-of-process probe. This prevents native DAX driver startup faults from blocking application launch or interrupting active tracking passes.
- CTCSS and Connection Improvements Fixed tone mode and sub-tone application logic for SmartSDR, along with connection state safeguards to prevent reconnect loops when setting custom client labels.
Yaesu and Icom Rig Updates
- Yaesu FT-991/991A Uplink Split Tracking Enabled automatic split mode (
FT3;) on FT-991 and FT-991A uplink legs. Uplink Doppler updates are now directed straight to VFO-B (FB), allowing real-time Doppler corrections during keydown without locking up the transmitter. - Yaesu CAT Command Hardening Updated Yaesu NewCAT setup routines to handle fire-and-forget command sets cleanly, preventing rig worker delays while reducing repetitive error logs in the shack.
- Icom IC-905 (10 GHz) Dual-Radio Support Added dedicated CI-V driver support for the Icom IC-905 across 10 GHz SHF satellite bands using 6-byte BCD payload encoding.
- Icom IC-910 Narrow FM Mode Encoding Added model-specific CI-V mode encoding for the IC-910, ensuring
FMNcorrectly toggles the narrow filter (06 05 02) whileFMandDATA-FMselect standard wide filters.
Kenwood TS-2000 Driver Refinements
- Receive-Only and Beacon SATL Modes The TS-2000 driver now stays in native
SATLmode for receive-only and beacon satellite tracking (usingFADoppler updates), dropping down to VFO split mode only when handling same-band transponders. ForcedPC050power shifts have been removed, exit beep sequences silenced, and automated backoff delays added to handle frequency write retries smoothly. - Automatic Layout Recovery If frequency programming fails due to inverted Main/Sub VFO configurations after switching satellites, the driver automatically exchanges VFOs and reapplies the profile before re-entering
SATLmode to recover tracking.
Rotator Protocols and Network Control
- TCP Network Tunneling for Rotators Added raw TCP network socket support across GS-232, EasyComm, SPID, and SAEBRTrack protocols. This lets you connect to remote rotators over IP networks or
ser2netserial bridges. - OZ9AAR Ultimate Rotator Controller (URC) Added native driver support for the OZ9AAR URC controller over TCP using JSON
POLL/GOTOframing formats. - SAEBRTrack Adjustments Updated SAEBRTrack output commands to use compact
AZnnnELnnnformats. For rotators without position feedback, the UI now falls back to displaying the last commanded elevation on the map, sky plot, and status overlays.
World Map and Recording Features
- Custom World Map Centering Added world map centring options (Greenwich meridian, your station longitude, or a custom central longitude). Ground tracks, footprints, and night/day greyline overlays recalculate smoothly around your chosen center.
- Stable Audio Recording Device Names Audio recording devices are now saved and resolved by device name rather than shifting system index numbers, ensuring your chosen audio input remains locked across system reboots.
- Appearance Settings Reorganization Reorganized the Appearance settings tab into clear sections covering Locale & Time, Map, Theme, and Updates.
