Major Milestone Release
Welcome to OscarWatch Tracker 1.0.0! This milestone release represents a huge leap forward for the project, featuring a comprehensive overhaul of our FlexRadio SmartSDR integration, expanded HF satellite support, smarter dual-radio tuning, and refreshed user interface layouts.
FlexRadio SmartSDR Overhaul
- Flawless Band & Panadapter Swapping Fixed persistent issues when switching between VHF/UHF (V/U) and UHF/VHF (U/V) satellites under SmartSDR. Slices are now cleanly recreated on locked panadapters before tuning, eliminating situations where both slices ended up stuck on the same pan or band.
- Independent SCU Pan Centring Panadapters now centre based on their underlying Spectral Capture Unit (SCU) band rather than volatile stream IDs. Doppler tracking now forces
autopan=0during updates, preventing automatic retunes from yanking your visual panadapter displays off-target. - Band-Specific Antenna Port Mapping Added configurable VHF and UHF antenna routing rules. When switching between satellites, OscarWatch now automatically applies your preferred
RX_A/RX_Band transmit antenna assignments, fixing silent receive issues caused by SmartSDR holding onto previous port selections. - Post-Initialization State Verification Added a verification pass immediately after pass initialisation that reads back live slice frequencies, operating modes, transmit roles, and pan attachments. If a mismatch is detected, the system repairs it automatically on the fly.
- Mode & CTCSS Guard Rails Mode applications are deferred during pan rebinds, and CTCSS tone commands are strictly gated to FM passes. This ensures linear SSB passes select USB/LSB smoothly without throwing error logs.
Expanded HF Satellite Support (AO-07 Mode A)
- Icom IC-7300 Dual-Radio Support Added the IC-7300 as a supported dual-radio CI-V endpoint. This allows operators to run AO-07 Mode A with 10m HF downlink tracking on the IC-7300 paired with a separate VHF uplink rig.
- Icom IC-706 Series Band Coverage Fixes Corrected band gating for the entire IC-706 family. The IC-706 and IC-706MKII are now properly enabled for HF through 6m operations, while the IC-706MKIIG adds 70cm capability.
- Yaesu FT-817/FT-818 10m Downlink Documented and verified 10m HF downlink capability for the FT-817 and FT-818 platforms without software band restrictions.
Smarter Dual-Radio Tuning & Rig Controls
- SDR-to-TX Passband Tracking Tuning the receiver dial on a dual-radio setup (such as an SDR downlink) now automatically nudges the transmit passband offset in sync, mirroring the behaviour of single-radio Main/Sub tracking in both Normal and Reverse tracking modes.
- Kenwood TS-2000 TRACE Toggle & CTCSS Handling Added a new setting to toggle hardware
TRACE/TRACE REVhandling on the TS-2000 so you can test PC-managed Doppler without the radio's internal tracking interfering. Standardised CTCSS handling so Icom rigs retain required USA TSQL modes while restricting tone-encode-only operation to the TS-2000. - COM Port Refresh Protection Fixed a UI glitch where refreshing the serial port list would clear active radio, rotator, and GPS dropdown selections.
UI Polish & Community
- Upcoming Passes Card Redesign Refreshed the Upcoming Passes interface with improved spacing, clearer typography, softer status fills for both light and dark themes, and cleaner duration/elevation readouts.
