chda 1.1.0 — Linux x86_64
chda 1.1.0 adds Linux x86_64 packages, available as an AppImage and a portable archive, with the same application payload in both downloads.
- Use chda on X11 or Wayland with Linux shortcuts that preserve terminal controls such as Ctrl+C.
- Follow the foreground process's working directory, create Git worktrees, and restore terminals and saved sessions after restarting.
- Copy selections, enter Unicode and composed text, and open terminal links through the desktop.
- Use pane-specific agent hooks, MCP, resource reporting and notifications. AppImage helper commands survive temporary extraction removal and restart.
- Open commands, settings, About and folder dialogs, with window controls when the compositor does not provide them.
Download the Linux package and SHA256SUMS below. See the Linux installation guide for verification, setup, shortcuts and known graphics or input-method limitations.
Linux requires glibc 2.31 or newer and a compatible Vulkan graphics driver. Stock Mesa 20/21 software rendering is unsupported. The compatibility-floor check uses a separate modern driver; that driver is not bundled in the downloads. Validation uses software-rendered x86_64 Linux sessions; physical GPUs and every desktop/input method are not covered. ARM64, musl and Windows packages are outside this release.
This release contains Linux downloads. The macOS update channel remains on its separately published release.
Built from e7dbf581. Changes since v1.0.25.
chda v1.0.25
chda 1.0.25
chda now uses 1.x version numbers, continuing from 0.1.24. Existing settings and saved sessions remain compatible.
- Start Codex from a worktree menu or type it in a chda terminal without the shared background server warning. Codex stays attached to its terminal pane.
- Keep both windows and their live sessions running when Claude usage updates arrive or agents coordinate through MCP. Session listing, output reads and status waits work across windows without moving focus.
- The README and website now include an updated native tour, screenshots, custom commands and pane movement examples.
Native UI validation is incomplete. The owner authorized publication with the remaining native review rounds, both full native E2E runs and exact signed-ZIP GUI checks unverified. Developer ID signing, notarization, universal architectures, checksums and update signatures remain required. Validation status.

chda v0.1.23
변경 범위: v0.1.22 → v0.1.23.
추가 실제 화면 검수는 사용자의 공개 지시에 따라 생략했습니다. 미완료 검수와 업데이트 완료 미확인은 통과로 표시하지 않았습니다. 공개 지시와 남은 항목.
chda v0.1.22
chda v0.1.22 brings agents and terminals together in one Sessions list. Sessions and PROJECT scroll independently, so switching sessions keeps your place while revealing the relevant branch in PROJECT.
Native UI validation is incomplete. The owner approved omitting repeated review rounds and the two full native E2E runs for this exact candidate. The observed completed Codex child status problem remains unresolved. Developer ID signing, notarization, update-signature verification, original signed-app launch and GUI IPC passed. Original validation exception.
An actual update in an isolated, metadata-modified v0.1.21 QA fixture failed while launching the installer. No successor app started, so session and original shell preservation after update remain unknown. The sandboxed test environment is a possible cause; a product defect has neither been confirmed nor excluded. After these results were disclosed, the owner approved publishing this exact signed draft under an additional update validation exception. The failed and unknown checks remain recorded; the original signed ZIP and build approval are unchanged.
- Keep chda and its sessions running if macOS cannot open the Add repo picker, with an error you can retry.
- Keep status icons readable in light themes and give + repo its own tooltip.
- Improve file-path detection after prose and inside parentheses.
- Wrap long lines in the Copy for sharing preview.
- Make the pinned repository header act on its repository, and clear closed agents' working status.
- Improve Codex conversation tracking and keep live Sessions rows when another process reports for the same worktree.
Known limitations:
- The isolated GUI update attempt reported “An error occurred while launching the installer. Please try again later.” Successful session-preserving update from an unmodified customer installation has not been verified for this release.
- The Codex shared-server warning remains unresolved (#173). Running Codex children may show Unknown until their completion is known.
- A completed Codex child can also remain Unknown after completion or normal CLI exit. This was observed in the v0.1.22 candidate (CHILD-161) and is recorded as a failure, not a passed check.
- A typed
cd <repo> && claudeorcodexone-liner may restore in the pane's previous directory (#226). Launching from chda's agent sheet retains the launch directory. - Closing an idle parent with a running child does not ask for confirmation (#227).
- Copy for sharing may keep the terminal gutter when a multi-line selection cannot be matched to its source (#229); inspect or edit the preview before copying.
- Terminal reflow and resize improvements are tracked separately (#224).
chda v0.1.21
Native UI validation is incomplete in this release. The owner requested publication after the input-tool blocker was reported. CI, Developer ID signing, notarization and update-signature verification remain required. Recorded exception.
The Codex shared-server warning remains unresolved (#173).
Added
- (worktrees) prepare local files and setup before opening new worktrees (#176)
- (review) keep private notes on worktree diff lines (#175)
- (terminal) preview selected assistant text before sharing (#174)
- (agents) show confirmed child activity under each conversation (#172)
- (agents) restart the exact conversation after a managed process exits (#171)
- (agents) choose and retain permissions for each conversation (#170)
- (notifications) keep operational messages in a window history (#169)
Fixed
chda v0.1.20
Update without stopping your work
- Click Update to … in the signed macOS app to download, verify and install a new release. Progress is shared across windows, and automatic downloads and installs remain off.
- Running shells and agents reconnect after the windows briefly reopen, keeping terminal text and scrollback, tabs, splits and focus.
- If installation or startup fails, the retained signed app reopens with the same sessions. Updates wait for current repository tasks and unfinished input before preserving sessions.
- Release notes and “Dismiss until the next release” remain in a separate menu.
Upgrading from v0.1.19 or earlier
This is the first release with in-app updates. Install it once from the ZIP below, or run:
brew upgrade --cask --greedy chdaIn-app installation requires the signed macOS app. Terminals that have used inline images must be closed before updating; the app otherwise leaves their processes running and reports the unsupported state.
User-owned installation and recovery were verified with signed apps. Administrator-owned installation and authentication cancellation remain to be verified.
chda v0.1.19
chda v0.1.19 keeps prompt text readable when you change themes during a running agent session.
Improvements and fixes
- Text remains readable even if a terminal application retains a bright or dark prompt background after a theme change. Readable colors are preserved; low-contrast text is adjusted without restarting the agent or discarding unfinished input.
- Ghostty’s
minimum-contrastsetting now applies live. chda uses 3 by default; values from 1 to 21 are supported, and 1 disables the adjustment.
This release includes the quota reporting and sidebar navigation improvements from v0.1.18.
chda v0.1.18
chda v0.1.18 improves provider quota reporting and navigation between live sessions.
Improvements and fixes
- Claude Code starts with “Waiting for usage” and Codex with “Loading” instead of showing “Unavailable” by default. Valid quota readings remain visible during refreshes, and temporary Codex failures retry promptly.
- Selecting an ACTIVE or Idle Agents session reveals its worktree near the top of the sidebar, as far as the list allows.
- ACTIVE and Idle Agents can be collapsed independently. Their counts stay visible, and the app remembers each choice across restarts.
- ACTIVE branch labels now follow split-pane focus immediately, so clicking a session selects the correct branch.
chda v0.1.17
Fixed
- (sidebar) show a spinner for working agents and a badge for waiting ones (#142)
