This pre-release version incorporates some bug fixes from testing in the Magma Chamber Simulator. More importably it includes, for the first time, native builds of executables and libraries for ARM64 (also known as AArch64) including Apple silicon, M series processors running macOS, Windows 11 or Linux.

Note that for testing purposes the alphamelts executables are bundled with v2.3.1 Perl scripts with .command file extensions. v2.4.0 will revert to using .pl file extensions (except there will be an alpahmelts.command script for double clicking on macOS like easyMelts.command). The Linux executables were built on Ubuntu but are known to work on some Fedora-based systems. All the executables should work without requiring additional libraries to be installed. If that is not the case please open an Issue and describe the operating system and any error messages.

The alphaMELTS C library of functions is provided in the Python packages so that they can be tested within PetThermoTools. MATLAB versions will follow after the first pass of testing. Linux and macOS users will need to install the Gnu Science Library, as described in the Wiki. Additional DLLs are provided for the Windows versions. If there are any issues importing the libraries please open an Issue and describe the operating system, Python version and any error messages.
