Atlas v1.2.2
Read a codebase you have never seen. What it is, what calls what, and where to start.
Download
| Platform | ||
|---|---|---|
| macOS | Apple Silicon · 14+ | Atlas-1.2.2.dmg |
| Windows | x64 · 10+ | Atlas-1.2.2-windows-x64.zip |
Installing
macOS — open the disk image and drag Atlas to Applications. If Gatekeeper stops the first launch, right-click the app and choose Open, or run xattr -cr /Applications/Atlas.app.
Windows — unzip anywhere and run Atlas.exe.
On Windows, keep the folder as it comes. atlas-engine is the analysis, which the app runs as a separate program, and the .dll files beside it are the Swift runtime that engine is built against.
No installer, no runtime to download, and nothing written outside your own user folder — Atlas keeps its scan history there so it can tell you what moved since last time.
One engine, two platforms
The reading is done by the same Swift code on both. Only the drawing is written twice, because SwiftUI does not exist off Apple platforms and there is no honest way around that.
You can check the claim yourself:
atlas-engine analyze <folder> --pretty
That prints everything the app draws. CI runs it on both platforms on every push and compares the results; a difference fails the build.
Verifying a download
shasum -a 256 -c Atlas-1.2.2.dmg.sha256
MIT licensed.
Atlas v1.2.1
Warning
The Windows download on this release is incomplete. It carries most of the
Visual C++ runtime but not VCRUNTIME140_1.dll, so on a machine that has
never had the Visual C++ redistributable installed the engine stops there
rather than starting. Machines that do have it are unaffected.
Use v1.2.2
instead. The macOS disk image here is unaffected.

Atlas v1.2
Warning
The Windows download on this release cannot start. It shipped without the
Swift runtime the engine is built against, and stops with "the code
execution cannot proceed because swiftWinSDK.dll was not found" on any
machine that has no Swift toolchain installed.
Use v1.2.1
instead. The macOS disk image here is unaffected.
