Caddock 1.1.0
What's new
- Wildcard subdomains. Toggle on a vhost to serve
example.testand*.example.test. Apex stays in/etc/hosts; subdomains go through local DNS. - Wildcard status. Lists and the menu bar show the apex plus a wildcard badge. Health checks hit the apex instead of skipping the site.
- Local DNS on IPv4. The responder binds
127.0.0.1:53535so macOS resolver queries actually resolve. Resolver files still HUPmDNSResponderafter write. - Editor. Domain, aliases, document root, PHP-FPM socket, and proxy target share the same icon + field layout.
- Health after reload. Creating, importing, or saving a vhost re-runs health checks instead of waiting for the next timer.
- Rename. App, helper, and bundle IDs are Caddock throughout. Disable any leftover CaddyManager helper in Login Items & Extensions if it is still listed.
Notes
Chrome ignores /etc/resolver when Secure DNS or the built-in async DNS client is on. For *.example.test in Chrome: turn off Secure DNS, set chrome://flags/#enable-async-dns to Disabled, or defaults write com.google.Chrome BuiltInDnsClientEnabled -bool false.
