📦 Flatpak (recommended on rolling distros)
Adds Chronicler as a Flatpak remote so future updates flow through flatpak update:
flatpak install --user --from https://flatpak.chronicler.pro/chronicler.flatpakrefOr one-shot install the bundle from this release:
flatpak install --user Chronicler.flatpak⚠️ A Note for Windows Users
When you first run the installer, Microsoft Defender may show a "Windows protected your PC" screen. This is expected because Chronicler is a new application from an independent developer and is not yet code-signed.
To proceed, simply click "More info" and then "Run anyway".
🍎 A Note for macOS Users
Chronicler for macOS is currently unsigned. The first time you open it, you will need to run a command in the Terminal.
- Download the
.dmgfile and move the app to your Applications folder. - Open the Terminal app.
- Run this command:
sudo xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine /Applications/chronicler.app
- The app will now open correctly.
🛡️ Security & Trust
While the initial installer is unsigned, all in-app updates are cryptographically signed by me. This is handled by Tauri's built-in updater, which verifies the update signature before installing it. This ensures that all future updates are authentic and have not been tampered with.
Chronicler v0.59.0-alpha

🔄 Changed
- Community: The mascot contest splash now shows all eight round-two finalists at once, reshuffled on every launch. Go vote for your favourite!
🐞 Fixed
- Preview: Fixed the infobox and Table of Contents overlapping when the preview pane is narrow (e.g. when Chronicler is in a half-screen window or the sidebar is wide).
- Infoboxes: Fixed a bug where opening the infobox editor on a page with no frontmatter, or whose content began with a markdown table separator, would load a jumble of junk fields instead of a clean empty editor.

🐞 Fixed
- Fonts: Fixed custom fonts silently failing to load on Windows, causing the application to fall back to the default font.
