AXIOM v0.3.0-beta.5 — Verified Cross-platform Release
AXIOM-AI v0.3.0-beta.5 — Release Notes
Release channel: Beta prerelease
Version: v0.3.0-beta.5
Project: [NetCore-Technologies/AXIOM-AI](https://github.com/NetCore-Technologies/AXIOM-AI)
Overview
AXIOM-AI B.5 continues the development of a local-first AI engineering toolkit, bringing its command-line interface, graphical Control Center, setup experience, and documentation closer together.
This release focuses on a more consistent versioning scheme, a clearer first-project experience, improved installation workflows, and better guidance for using AXIOM-AI's existing dataset, hardware, and model-planning capabilities.
What's new
Getting started and examples
- Improved
examples/my-first-ai: Expanded the beginner walkthrough to make the initial project easier to understand and configure. - Configuration guidance: Improved example configuration and sample JSONL dataset material.
- Dataset validation guidance: Clarified how to validate sample data and identify common input problems.
- GUI integration guidance: Added clearer directions for moving from the initial example into the graphical Control Center.
- Documentation improvements: Updated supporting instructions to make the onboarding process more approachable.
Installation and packaging
- Improved Windows installer workflow: Added more flexible release-tag selection and interactive setup prompts.
- Custom installation directory: Improved control over where AXIOM-AI is installed.
- Download integrity: Added SHA-256 verification to the Windows installation workflow.
- Installation checks: Improved executable checks and command-line installation options.
- Linux installation guidance: Updated instructions to better explain the installation process.
- Package-manager documentation: Updated Winget and Scoop guidance to align with the release work.
CLI and GUI consistency
- Continued work toward a more consistent experience between the command-line tools and graphical Control Center.
- Updated Control Center documentation and Wiki material to reflect the newer release.
- Improved the release and version-alignment work across Python package metadata, runtime metadata, the npm CLI package, README material, and workflows.
AI engineering workflows
AXIOM-AI's existing engineering workflow is intended to help users prepare and assess AI projects before moving into external training or inference environments.
Relevant workflow areas include:
- Local hardware and model compatibility assessment.
- Dataset preparation and validation, including JSONL data.
- Model and training-resource planning.
- LoRA/QLoRA planning guidance.
- Access to engineering workflows through the CLI and GUI.
These capabilities should be understood within their implemented scope; this release does not imply that every planned AI engineering feature is complete.
Documentation and release maintenance
- Updated the README, Control Center documentation, and Wiki content.
- Improved installer and package-manager instructions.
- Added release-specific documentation at
docs/releases/v0.3.0-beta.5.md. - Continued aligning version references around the B.5 target.
Compatibility and scope
AXIOM-AI remains a beta-stage project. Review the installation instructions and verify your environment before using it in important workflows.
The project's engineering and planning features should not be confused with a complete model-training or production-inference platform. Do not assume that model serving, end-to-end training execution, checkpoint production, or every planned roadmap item is available unless explicitly documented as implemented.
Testing status
The B.5 changes have been prepared and a commit was reported as pushed during release preparation. However, the complete test suite, release CI, and published GitHub prerelease have not been independently verified here.
Please check the repository's CI results and the published release assets before treating this build as fully validated.
Upgrade notes
- Review the updated installation instructions for your operating system.
- Back up existing project configuration before changing installations.
- Verify downloaded installer files using the provided integrity-checking workflow where supported.
- Follow the
examples/my-first-aiwalkthrough to create or validate your first project.
What's next
Development continues toward a more integrated AXIOM-AI experience, with further CLI/GUI integration, broader roadmap coverage, improved workflow accessibility, and ongoing quality improvements.
Thank you for testing AXIOM-AI and helping improve the project.

AXIOM v0.2.0-beta.7 — Optimizer, macOS CLI and beta updates
AXIOM AI v0.2.0-beta.7
Build AI. Own AI.
AXIOM AI is an AI engineering platform focused on model management,
optimization workflows, dataset preparation, training planning, evaluation,
and local runtime tooling.
Release status: Beta / pre-release.
This release is intended for testing and feedback. Features and interfaces
may change before a stable release. Review the repository's security
documentation before using AXIOM with sensitive data or untrusted models.
Highlights
Model optimization
- Introduces the AXIOM optimizer workflow for inspecting models and preparing
runtime-focused bundles. - Adds agent profiles for coding, reasoning, research, general assistance,
automation, mathematics, writing, and multilingual tasks. - Supports system-aware optimization planning and configurable performance
targets. - Treats performance targets as goals, not guarantees; actual throughput
depends on the model, hardware, runtime, context length, and configuration.
Model policy auditing
- Adds a model policy audit workflow to identify policy- and safety-related
indicators in model files and configurations. - The audit is informational. It does not guarantee that a model is safe,
and it does not automatically remove model safeguards.
Security and path handling
- Adds model-path validation and boundary checks to optimization-related
workflows. - Continues hardening API routes and filesystem operations involving model
paths. - Adds administrator-storage handling in the frontend.
Security scanning is an ongoing process. Users should check the repository's
Security tab for current CodeQL findings and should not interpret this beta
release as proof that all security findings have been resolved.
Frontend and usability
- Improves the AXIOM Control Center's optimizer and quantization interfaces.
- Includes automated browser coverage for first-boot authentication and
invalid-login handling. - Continues work on the dark engineering-dashboard interface.
Documentation
- Updates release documentation and the project roadmap.
- Documents the beta's scope, limitations, and validation expectations.
Validation
The following checks have passed in the development environment during
release preparation:
- Python test suite: 23 tests passed.
- Playwright end-to-end suite: 2 tests passed.
- ESLint.
- TypeScript compilation and Vite production build.
- Python bytecode compilation.
- Ruff checks.
- Git whitespace/error checks.
These results describe the tested development state; they do not guarantee
that every supported operating system, model, accelerator, or deployment
configuration has been tested.
Known limitations
- Beta software may contain bugs and breaking changes.
- Model performance and memory use vary significantly by hardware and model.
- Optimization plans and performance targets are not guarantees of measured
inference speed. - Policy auditing is not a complete safety assessment.
- Security alerts may be updated as new scans run. Check the repository's
current CodeQL results before deployment. - Review the project's installation instructions for platform-specific
requirements before running workloads.
Upgrade and installation
Use the installation and setup instructions in the repository README.
Back up project configuration and any important local data before upgrading.
Do not assume that beta versions are interchangeable without checking the
release-specific instructions.
Feedback and bug reports
Please report reproducible bugs through GitHub Issues. Include your operating
system, Python and Node.js versions, the command or workflow used, relevant
logs, and steps to reproduce the issue. Remove passwords, access tokens,
private model data, and other secrets before sharing logs.
