Release list
v0.8.20
Branch rename support, commit tag visibility, and UI reliability improvements.
Full Changelog: v0.8.14...v0.8.20
Show Commit Tags in History and Details
Commit tags are now displayed in the History pane and the Details pane, giving a quick overview of which commits are tagged directly in the UI.
Branch Rename Action
A new action in the Branch pane allows renaming the currently selected branch. Help text for the action is also shown in the UI.
Improved Details Pane on File Status Change
The Details pane no longer shows stale diff content after a file has been reverted or removed — it now refreshes correctly when repository file status changes.
Fix: Log-Pane No Longer Steals Keyboard Focus
When a repo-pane action fails and the log-pane opens automatically, focus now stays on the current pane instead of being transferred to the log-pane.
Redraw Keybinding (Ctrl-L)
A new Ctrl-L keybinding forces a full redraw of the TUI, useful for recovering from garbled terminal output.
v0.8.14
Amend last commit even unstaged, fixed broken f-keybinding, recovery of previously-failed repo actions
Full Changelog: v0.8.11...v0.8.14
Amend Commit without Staged Files
The per-repo action a and the History pane's per-commit action now allow amending the last git commit even when no file is currently staged — amending with zero staged files simply rewrites the HEAD commit message.
Fix: Non-Functional F-Keybindings
The F-keybindings for push, force push, history and remove-repo actions did not work in some terminals. Keybindings were refactored and are now also accepted in their macOS Terminal spellings (∏ for Alt-Shift-p, ƒ for Alt-f).
Fix: Missing Execution of Repo Actions
Actions like fetch or pull were silently not executed on a repo that had failed previously. Failed repos can now correctly run these actions again.
v0.8.11
Mouse support for repo-section collapse/expand and a missing remove-repo action
Full Changelog: v0.8.8...v0.8.11
Clickable Repo Section Collapse/Expand Indicator
Clicking the collapse/expand indicator of a repo section now toggles that section's collapsed state directly.
Added Missing Remove-Repo-From-App Action
The repo action-menu was missing the action to remove a repository from the app. It is now available.
v0.8.8
Repository Sections, Improved Commit Dialog, and App Release Check
Full Changelog: v0.7.17...v0.8.8
Repository Sections
Repositories can now be grouped into expandable/collapsible sections. New actions allow creating, renaming, and removing sections, adding and removing repos to/from sections, and summarizing repositories in the section title row. The existing state config YAML is migrated on-the-fly during startup.
Improved Commit Dialog
The commit dialog now supports full cursor movement across the entire text and allows entering newline characters, making it easier to compose multi-line commit messages.
Fix: Selection Change in Status-Pane
Fixed a bug where the file selection in the status-pane would unexpectedly jump when a file's status changed (e.g., from staged to modified or modified to staged).
Status-Pane Title Truncation
The status-pane title is now truncated when the terminal is too narrow, preventing layout breakage on small screens.
Repository Name in Pane Title
The repositories-pane title now includes the name of the currently selected repository for better orientation.
Fix: Keybinding in File-Picker
Fixed non-functional "j" and "k" keybindings in the file-picker that prevented keyboard navigation.
Activity Indicator for Concurrent Actions
The activity indicator now correctly shows ongoing operations when multiple actions are running concurrently, such as scanning repository status while a pull or fetch action is in progress.
App Release Check
The application now periodically checks for newer releases. Notifications are shown at startup and a hint is displayed in the help dialog when an update is available.
Commit workflow improvements: create, amend, and undo commits directly from the UI, alongside push/pull for any branch and several bug fixes.
Full Changelog: v0.7.0...v0.7.17
Undo HEAD Commit
Pressing Enter on the HEAD commit row in the History pane opens an action menu with an Undo Commit action that runs git reset --mixed HEAD~1, leaving all changes as unstaged working-tree modifications.
Fix: Bare Repository Rejected on Add
Attempting to add a bare repository now logs an error immediately and skips tracking the path, instead of silently adding it and showing an error on next launch.
Commit and Amend Commit from Status Pane
When a staged file is selected, the per-file action menu now offers Commit and Amend Commit actions that open a multiline message popup; Enter confirms, Shift-↵/Alt-↵ inserts a newline, and Esc cancels.
Help Overlay Improvements
Missing keybindings were added to the help popup and each section now aligns its key column independently to the widest key in that section.
Push and Force Push for Any Local Branch
Push Branch and Force Push Branch are now available in the Branches pane action menu for any local branch, and push actions in the Repositories pane are always shown regardless of whether an upstream is configured.
Fix: Empty History for Remote-Only Branches
The "History: Ahead of / Behind" views were returning zero commits for remote-only branches because the local-branch lookup had no fallback to the remote ref.
Action Menu Anchored to Its Own Pane
Action menus now appear anchored to the pane that opened them rather than always to the Repositories pane.
Horizontal Resize of Details Pane
The divider between the Status Details / History panes and the Details pane can now be dragged horizontally, defaulting to a 50 % split.
Fix: Wrong Activity Indicator for File Actions
Running an action from the Status Details pane action menu was incorrectly showing fetching in the Activity spinner; these operations now show working.
Save as Patch and Apply Patch
Two new per-file actions allow saving the current diff as a .patch file and reverting the file to HEAD, or applying a selected .patch file via git apply.
Clear Output Log
A Clear Log action (x) in the Output Log pane action menu clears all log entries and resets scroll to the tail.
Case-Insensitive Path Sorting
File paths in the Status Details pane, History file sub-rows, and Repositories list are now sorted case-insensitively by default, configurable via general.case_sensitive_path_sorting.
Branches Pane Enhancements
A ✓ merged indicator now marks branches with no commits ahead of trunk, and new Delete Branch and Create Branch actions were added to the per-branch action menu.
Fix: Thread Crash from Too Many Concurrent Operations
Spawning many background git operations in rapid succession could exhaust thread resources; operations are now queued to prevent unbounded thread creation.
Fix: Terminal State Not Restored on Thread Panic
If a background thread panicked, the terminal was left in raw mode printing escape sequences as garbage text; a panic hook now restores the terminal before the process exits.
Fix: Fast-Forward Pull for Non-Current Branches
Pressing p in the Branches pane now correctly issues a fast-forward pull for a non-current branch that is behind its upstream, instead of falling through to a pull on the current branch.
Fix: Commit History Reset When Switching Repos
Switching the selected repository while the History pane was open could reset scroll position and lose the active filter; the pane now preserves state and falls back gracefully when the filter is not applicable to the new repo.
Resizable repository pane
Full Changelog: v0.6.0...v0.7.0
Commit details
Refactored the "Diff" pane into a "Details" pane that shows file diff or commit details depending on whether a file from status/history is selected or a commit message row.
Full Changelog: v0.5.0...v0.6.0
UX Polish and logging to file
Full Changelog: v0.3.0...v0.5.0
Show diff of file status and commit history file
Full Changelog: v0.2.0...v0.3.0
