Daymark 1.0.0-beta.2 is a maintenance prerelease correcting application-icon integration on Linux and Android.

Highlights

  • Debian and AppImage packages now install the canonical Daymark icon through the standard hicolor theme paths, scalable SVG path, and pixmaps fallback.
  • The AppImage carries the canonical root application icon and .DirIcon.
  • Android launcher resources are generated from the canonical Daymark branding asset, and CI rejects stale committed launcher icons.
  • The signed Android APK preserves the signing lineage established by alpha.3 and retained by beta.1.
  • Direct install-over from published beta.1 was validated on physical Android hardware with the existing journal, master-password unlock, data, and persistence preserved.
  • Database schema remains v2. No product feature or schema migration is introduced.

Daymark 1.0.0-alpha.3

Daymark alpha.3 consolidates the feature-complete Linux and Android product line.

Highlights

  • Monthly Trackers with schema v2
  • Daily Reflection and refined Rapid Logging
  • navigation and organization polish
  • Open Export and session-security hardening
  • final Linux/Android UI, keyboard, focus and accessibility polish
  • About, website, source and support identity
  • functional product scope frozen; future work is maintenance-focused

Important Android upgrade note

The private Android signing key used for alpha.2 could not be recovered.

Because alpha.3 establishes a new Android signing lineage, Android cannot install alpha.3 directly over alpha.2.

To migrate from alpha.2:

  1. In alpha.2, create an encrypted Daymark Backup.
  2. Copy that .daymark-backup file somewhere safe outside the app.
  3. Uninstall alpha.2.
  4. Install alpha.3.
  5. Choose Restore and open the encrypted backup using the existing master password.

This migration path was validated on a physical Android device. The restored journal remained usable after force-stop and relaunch.

Daymark 1.0.0-alpha.2

First controlled distributable prerelease of Daymark for Linux and Android.

Highlights

  • faithful, local-first Bullet Journal workflow
  • encrypted local journal storage
  • portable encrypted Backup / Restore
  • explicit plaintext Open Export to JSON and Markdown
  • persistent System / Light / Dark appearance selection
  • Linux and Android application name normalized to Daymark
  • dedicated Android release signing with no debug-signing fallback
  • compatibility repair for legacy pre-alpha journals missing the required journal_metadata singleton

Validation

The release was validated with:

  • complete Flutter test suite
  • static analysis
  • Linux release build and native dependency check
  • signed Android release build
  • physical Android testing on Android 8.1 / SDK 27
  • real alpha.1 journal migration through encrypted backup/restore
  • lock/unlock and restart persistence
  • backup validation before and after Android reinstall
  • physical Android JSON and Markdown Open Export validation
  • post-merge CI on the exact tagged source commit

Android upgrade note

Earlier 1.0.0-alpha.1 development installs were debug-signed and therefore cannot be directly replaced by this release-signed APK.

For such development installs, preserve the journal with Daymark's encrypted Backup feature before moving to the release build, then restore that backup into the release installation.
